Sam placed the dvd in while the group gathered around to watch the Passion of the Christ. He watched Jason as the movie progressed to the part where Jesus was being whipped severely and tears were flowing down Jason's face. He looked at Sam and said, "What Jesus did for us is too much for me to bear. I don't deserve for Him to love me."
"Jason, none of us are worthy, but God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to earth to show us how much He loves us and doesn't want us to be apart from Him. Jesus taught He is the way to the Father. Jesus is God reaching out to His people," explained Sam.
They watched the rest of the movie with moments where sobs could be heard, gasps of anger at the suffering our Lord had to endure, and awe when He rises in the air to be with His Father. Christina admitted she had to hide her eyes during parts of the beating and her heart had actually hurt watching Jesus being whipped unmercifully. They each took turns telling what the movie had meant to them and when it came to Jason he simply said, "I know He loves me beyond anything I deserve, but I want to be in His Kingdom forever." And they all said, "AMEN."

Tim Barlow smiled as he watched the USS Cleveland sink out of site. Finally he thought his plan was coming together. Earlier that day the Captain Barlow and his submarine GF Theodor had made contact with two ships but both had turn their command over to the Global Family. It was just before sunset when his sonar picked up a ship moving Northwest. After tracking it for an hour and through the scope he could see the US flag it flew on its mast, Captain Barlow knew he found his first target. 6000 yards out the Theodor surfaced flying a US pennant. Friendly signals were exchanged as the Theodor slowly moved into an amidships target angle at 2000 yards. Once his sub was in place he signaled to the Cleveland asking what the crew’s intention was to turn over the ship to the GF. When the message came back that the USS Cleveland LPD-7 would only fly the United States flag, Barlow barked the order to fire tubes 2 and 4.
Since the sun had gone down and the crew of the Cleveland was not excepting any harm to come from a sister vessel, they had no idea was happened. Seaman Harris standing portside watch lookout saw the torpedo wakes just ten seconds before the first fish hit. He had turned to say something to the Officer of the Deck but the blast threw him clear of the ship into the water 80 feet below. The rest of the crew died within seconds of the first hit. The first fish hit the engine room and the boilers the second one hit the forward ammo magazine.
Captain Barlow watched as the fire glow slowly sank into the deep blue water grave.
“One down and many more to go before I return home to a hero’s welcome.” Barlow whispered to himself.

On the Ranch
Trevor walked out of the makeshift operating room. He looked at Shade. "I don't know. I did everything I could. The big problem is going to be infection. Shade I'll want to draw another pint of blood from you and Nathan both. I had to use what I drew the other day for this guy. It's a good thing I started doing that or he would have died of blood loss."
Shade nodded as he took his wife into his arms. She looked exausted.
Both Zoe and Tori flopped down on the couch and within moments were asleep.
Trevor sat down in a chair and finally asked the question that had been burning in his mind every since they had arrived at the house. "Have you ever seen anything like that?"
"No." Shade answered.
When Shade had realized that the bear tracks had circled around and headed for the house, both he and Trevor had gunned the atv's to max speed, rushing to get to the house. The sight that had greeted them had so shocked Shade that it had taken him a few moments to react. Recovering Shade had fired a shot at the mountain lion that was visciously attacking a man on the ground. The shot had been true, instantly killing the big cat. The shot had also startled the big cat and the bear that were attacking a man on the porch. Both animals had run around the corner of the house past the barn and off into the pasture. Shade had started to pursue the animals when he saw Trevor running to assist the injured men.
Trevor had quickly checked for a pulse on the man lying out in the driveway, and quickly moved on to the man on the pirch. Trevor had been surprised to find a pulse. Shade had shouted for Maddie and they had moved him into the dining room.
Zoe, Nathan and Tori had driven up to find the dead man in the driveway, and rushed into the house. They had spent the day at the hideout working on various projects. They had all been shaken, but when Trevor had called for Zoe and Tori both to help him and Maddie with the surgery both girls had shaken off their shock and horror. Within a few minutes they had both been jumping at Trevors orders to get the man prepped for surgery.
Nathan had helped Shade to dispose of the big cat and build a casket for the dead man.
Kristen and Matt had both come downstairs to see of they could help. Seeing that there wasn't much left to be done Matt had grabbed a rifle and headed out onto the porch to keep an eye out for the animals in case they returned.
Kristen had cleaned up the blood on the porch and the trail to the dining room, and then started making coffee and food for anyone who may need it. All in all it had been a hectic afternoon and night for everyone.
Maddie snuggled into her husbands side. "I tried to warn them. I was so shocked to see the bear come from behind the car that I couldn't say anything. And then I saw the mountain lion come around the other side. The other man tried to run, and I shouted at him not to, but it was too late. The cat was already on him. Then I tried to grab the man on the porch and pull him into the house, but the bear was too fast. I didn't even see the other cat until I had slammed the door." Taking a breath Maddie whispered. "I didn't think bears and mountain lions even got along, much less hunted together."
"They don't." Shade said. "Usually they're enemies. I don't understand it, but it's possible that even the animals sense the difference in the world. With the rapture of the church and the restrainer gone, evil will abound. It's possible animals will become more aggressive and dangerous, so it's best that we all keep an eye out for bears, mountain lions, coyotes and the like."
Shade looked out the window, his mind focused on how crazy the world was getting by the day. Bears and mountain lions working and hunting together was only the beginning.

Shannon was busy catching up on all the news and called the group in to read the latest from the Potentate Argros. Several of the websites she had been visiting were no longer available and there were more and more restrictions regarding internet usage. She would have to figure a way to get around those restrictions and continue monitoring the two witnesses in Israel. She backed up a few days and showed the video of the two witnesses preaching. The video was screened when someone tried to harm them and they were met with a firey end, the video seemed to be altered, but everyone knew what really took place. The new Global News station ran only what the Potentate wanted people to hear and see. The new currency was working well, but they were working on a new system to take its place. Shannon looked up at Sam, "You know what this will mean to us. We won't be able to buy anything so we will need to get whatever we need now."
Bud stood up, "You know the woods is full of things we can hunt and we can start a garden on the upper level of the cave in that flat spot. We can survive on little. Sam, you can use your plane to start something like an underground supply chain. I'm sure there are others just like us and we can use our resources to help each other. Maybe fuel for the plane would be an issue, but I bet we can find a way."
"You are right and Shannon can search out others like us and set up some kind of code that we can use to communicate. My plane can be fueled at spots that some are unaware of plus there will people that will help, I just know it. God is setting up His army here on earth and we can be a small part," said Sam.
"Henderson's is a place we can get supplies of all kinds since he carried everything under the sun. I don't know if it's been looted or not, but we can get whatever we need to get the garden started plus he used to have tillers and small farming supplies. We can do this and I'm ready to get started," Steven told the group.
Sam thought it was time to delegate jobs and to run this new operation just like a business. He figured they could set up a supply chain in no time at all and Shannon could do a spread sheet outlining the different items offered by each group she located on the net. There was a lot they could do to help each other survive the next seven years, but it would take a lot of work to get it up and running. He had read somewhere about a new technique to grow food inside and if he could find the person who had perfected it, he could get one of those started, too. He asked Shannon to get started as soon as she could searching for others that would join in the operation. By the time the new Global system for buying and trading is in place, they would have their own resources up and running. It's a start any way.

Jack had met with his former crew and most of them had a good working knowledge of the equipment onboard; the procedures and operation guidelines would take a little time but for the most part the new sailors would fall into place quite nice he thought.
During the night meeting with everyone top side, it was quickly learned that not all American were Christians and many of the American sailors were amazed that their Jewish shipmates had turned to Christ. Ben stood up and told the story how the Samuel of Ramah crew found the Lord and informed anyone who had not placed their faith in Jesus, he would be available anytime to answer any questions they had.
After the meeting and once the sub was back down at 90 feet, 10 of the 27 new sailors went to Ben and asked questions about the rapture and what was to come. 9 of the 10 found the Lord that night and the last one a Senior Chief said he would think hard about first.
Jack went back to his cabin and started reading the many books and manuals he needed to refresh on if he expected his men to call him Captain.

“Sonar to Con, two splashes bearing 045, distance to first one 5000 yards, distance to second 7000 yards.”
Josh being the Conning Officer quickly charted the spots then hit a switch that turned every light on to red. This was the signal to rig for silent running. The Lee Helman spoke into a microphone and announced to rig for silent running. He then reminded everyone that was to mean don’t move, walk, pick something up or lay something down. Anything and everything was to stop. Most of the new sailors didn’t understand how to remain quite so their counterparts had them lie down on the deck and don’t move.
Jack being in his cabin was itching to find out what was going on; did the silent running mean the captain as well? He better stay put he figured if they wanted him they would get the word to him. Jack was like the other sailors, it was hard not to move once you were told not to. Jack legs started to cramp up so slowly he moved them hoping not to make a noise greater then his own hearing. 5 minutes then 10 and 30, finally 50 minutes after the first warning, the white lights came back on and it was announced to secure from silent running. It took Jack a couple of minutes to move his body. Soreness had set in but he was not the only one, many new sailors who once thought living on a sub was easy soon learned that was not the case. Jack headed for Conn.

Julie walked toward the fields. Her heart was heavy thinking about Lisa now on board her flight to Isreal. The last couple of weeks of preparation had seemed to fly by and now she was gone. The Rabbi had been so happy when Lisa had accepted the position to be his personal assistant. But Julie was still sad to see her go even though she knew they would all be together again in the near future celebrating on streets of gold. The thought of that made her smile as she stopped near the edge of the field to look out at all the vegetation in bloom. Over the last month the compound had begun to take on the appearance of what she thought the garden of Eden might have looked like. The residents spent their days tending to all the flower beds and the acres of vegetation now blooming. Everyone had finally gotten use to seeing the angels encamped round about the perimeter 24/7. People came and went as they were trained up for the duty God had laid on their heart. But Julie hadnt been ready for Lisa to leave so quickly. As the sun began to set she turned and headed back to the main building. David had just finished tending all the animals in the burn as he saw her pass by. closing the barn door he hurried ti catch her and slipped his hand into hers as they walked into the diningroom for dinner. Julie didnt say anything, but she was glad he was around tonight. He would help her forget about missing Lisa and bring some light heartedness to her other wise long day. The food smelled great tonight as they took their seats. Brother Aaron bowed his head and prayers of thanksgiving was offered to the Lord. They sang a sweet song giving their praise to the Father in heaven as He watched from above.

Belle had bid her son Frank and his wife Tansy goodbye earlier that morning. Frank had promised to call her that night once they got settled in. As soon as they had driven away Belle had gotten busy.
“Leon? Would you be a dear and put those coolers in the trunk of your car?” she asked.
Leon picked up the first cooler and after loading it in the trunk, went back for the second. As he passed Belle in the kitchen, she followed him out the front door and closed and locked it. Leon put the cooler in the trunk and slammed it closed. He was surprised to see Belle get in behind the wheel.
“Mrs. Keller?” Leon asked.
“Get in Leon. We have some errands to run. And please call me Belle.”
“Yes ma’am.” Leon answered as he got into the car. As he buckled his seatbelt he asked, “Where are we going?”
“To find some warriors for Christ.” Belle said simply.
As Leon sat in the passengers seat trying to figure out what Belle meant, he wasn’t paying attention to where she was driving. After several minutes Belle slowed the car and turned a corner. Leon looked up and went stiff in fear. All around them on the buildings, cars, and sidewalks were spray painted with gang signs.
“Mrs. Keller?” Leon squeaked. “I think you made a wrong turn. We’re in gang territory.”
“I know dear. And please call me Belle.” She reached over and patted his arm reassuringly. “We’ll be fine. Trust in the Lord to keep us safe.” She drove slowly and pulled the car over. “This looks like a good spot. Leon please get one of the coolers out of the trunk for me.” Belle said as she opened the car door and got out.
Leon sat frozen in the seat. Belle was going to get them both killed. He saw a small group of men moving toward the car. There was no doubt they were gang members. They were all wearing gang colors, and each held a gun in his hand.
Leon jumped out of the car and rushed to the back of the car where Belle was trying to get one of the coolers out.
“Oh, there you are Leon. Could you get that for me?” Belle said calmly.
Leon reached into the trunk and yanked one of the coolers out. He slammed the trunk as Belle caught the cooler by one handle and tipped it back onto the wheels and began to pull it toward the approaching men.

Global Family Education Center #2 Tulsa, Oklahoma
Ronald (Earl) Myers walked down the hall of the school. Everywhere students milled about, their new uniforms making them all look the same. Several students had refused to wear the uniforms, and had been promptly expelled. Others had tried to change the uniform to their own liking by rolling up pant legs, or tearing off the sleeves, or wearing their own shoes and had been sent to the principals office for immediate disciplinary action.
The whole school had changed. No longer were students allowed to keep personal belongings in their lockers. There was no talking in the hallways between classes. The students were now on a strict schedule with barely time to get from one class to another. There were no longer upper and lower classman. Now there were rankings, based on a students intelligence, and aptitude.
Ronald saw two students kissing and thinking nothing of it, was shocked to see two teachers yank them apart and shove them up against the wall. When they had been searched they were dragged off to the principals office.
Ronald made it to his classroom and quietly closed the door. He sat at his desk and began to look over his new teaching course. He was no longer a social sciences teacher. As Ronald read over his teaching assignments he began to realize that he would no longer be teaching students skills to get them into college, and out into the workforce. He would be teaching students to become soldiers for the Global Family.
Ronald gave a shudder. It all seemed familiar somehow. He could remember hearing about something like this somewhere, but couldn’t remember when or where. His classroom door opened and students began filing into the room two by two. When each student had reached their desk, one high ranking student counted down from three and as one they each took their seats.
Ronald’s gut clenched looking out at the serious faces of the students. Their hands lay flat on their desks and they all stared straight ahead. Ronald cleared his throat and stood up reaching for the box of new textbooks. As he passed them out each student stood, saluted, took the book and promptly sat back down their hands lying flat on either side of the textbook.
When all the books had been passed out Ronald returned to his desk, picked up his first teaching assignment and read, “Welcome to Global Family Rules and Regulations 101.”

Joe and Josh were talking by the chart table when they saw Jack walk in still rubbing his legs.
“Take a bit getting use to but soon you will learn to be still.” Josh said
“Well hopefully we will not have too many of them”
Both men smiled as they knew in order for a sub to be unseen they must be silent first.
“So what was all that about?” Jack asked looking at the chart.
“Air contact, more then likely the same one we saw earlier. I think we need to head north find a shipping lane then tuck under a tanker.” Joe stated
“You all really do that? That is cheating” Jack replied
“Cheating, you surface sailors dive into thunderstorms, change your light makeup at nights and play leap frog. Who is cheating there?” Josh asked
“OK, I guess we are even” Jack smiled
“Any idea where we are heading? We have not heard or received any message traffic since we became outlaws.” Josh asked
“I was thinking maybe we move up the west coast of Africa and listen to radio traffic. Get a feel for who is on what side and any other news. We also need to keep a look out for any vessel still flying a friendly flag. I figured by now the lines have been drawn and anyone we are calling friends are either flying a home country flag or no flag at all.” Jack said nodding as he traced a line up the coast.
“Each time we pop up to take a look we are running a chance of detection.” Joe answered
“Understood, but if we can identify the vessel based on type before popping up then that will help out a lot. I have a Chief ET we call him Dumbo because he has mastered the art of listening to sounds and he can tell the difference between a two destroyers based on type before the computer can.”
“I would like to meet this man; I have a simulator track that the computer kicks butt on.” Joe said with a smile. “If he can beat my computer I will personally cook him dinner.”
“Better make it all three meals or he will not even talk to you.”
Josh laughed “I have a meal on the computer”
“Tell you what, if you computer can beat Dumbo, I will cook dinner for the whole crew.”
“Wow now that is a confident Captain.” Joe smiled, “Send him to me around 0900.”
“Take a bit getting use to but soon you will learn to be still.” Josh said
