Julie looked over at Emily. The poor child had practically fallen out from exhaustion after the Arizona border. They were 30 miles east of Flagstaff according to the last road sign. They'd run into quiet a mess in Albuquerque. First I-40 was blocked off by these huge barricades - she couldn't ever remember seeing orange and white road barrels so big; they had to stand over 10 feet tall. And they had been placed less than 2 feet apart - Julie doubted even a motorcycle could get through. They turned around and got off at the first exit and doubled-back to the west.
It was a typical scene. Cars wrecked - some burned, some just abandoned; bodies lying around - the stench was almost burned into her nose, but with a large number the smell was indescribable (Emily had gotten sick twice, Julie had to keep reminding herself that Emily had not seen most of this yet); there were people walking aimlessly; sometimes you'd see someone with a gun, but as long as you looked straight ahead they didn't give you a second look; lots of the buildings had been broken into - glass lying on the sidewalks, big pieces of glass jutting out of homes and businesses alike; animals wondering through the streets hungry; it was the same everywhere - the bodies were the worst.
They made their way down Odelia Street past the Mt. Calavry Cemetary. Julie stopped outside, and she and Emily stood on top of the car to see in - it was the strangest sight. For every three graves at least one had been opened - but not like the dirt was shoveled off of the caskets into a neat pile - the dirt had blown out of the grave, and assimilated in a fine, almost even layer on everything else in the graveyard. The sides of the graves were pushed outward, like the force of the casket door had blown the dirt away. Julie thought that would've been a sight to see. The strangest part of all was the casket doors. They were lined neated against the fence, not a scratch on them. Julie was afraid to go in, but she suspected there were clothes and jewerly left behind in each open casket.
As Julie and Emily left the cemetary, they were somber - neither saying much to the other. Just as they started to get back on I-40 to coninue to Oakland, Emily started screaming loudly, hysterically. She was jumping in her seat and saying, "Noo, nooo, oh, noooo." Julie realized Emily was looking past the huge road barrels that blocked I-40 on each end of Albuquerque. There was a group of women running; behind them three men were chasing, they began shooting the women in the back, laughing hysterically when they fell. One woman broke off and was running toward them! Emily started screaming out the window, "Hurry up, come on!" One gunman saw the red-haired woman running toward them. He started shooting their way!! They ducked and started screaming; Julie saying, "We've got to go Emily, we're gonna be killed." Emily was sobbing and screaming, "No we can't just leave her, we can't. She's coming for help! You said you can help!" Julie looked out the window and saw the woman was less than 50 yards from the car, "Okay, roll down the window and get in the back floorboard." Julie put the car in drive and popped her head up, "Hurry, hurry!" She was close, close enough to put her hand on the window and then her face went blank and she fell. A bullet had gotten her! He wasn't stopping, he was shooting at them now. Julie hit the gas and spun nearly out of control. The car was headed away from the gunman, but he was still shooting. Their car was being riddled with bullets - it was so loud. Julie kept screaming, "Keep your head down, keep your head down!" Emily cried and screamed and sobbed and jerked and jumped in the floorboard.
Suddenly helicopters came overhead and the gunman stopped. Julie couldn't see if he had been shot by the National Guard or if he'd just given up, but she didn't care! Julie drove for 10 minutes as fast as she could, then finally said, "Emily come up here, I can't stop the car right now, but you've got to calm down and get in the front seat." Emily couldn't calm down, her whole body was convulsing with sobs, hiccups, and tears. "EMILY - GET UP HERE! CALM DOWN AND get up here right now!" She finally crawled to the front seat, though Julie still couldn't hear herself think over Emily's cries. "Okay, are you hurt?"
"Noo, oo" was all she could muster.
"Are you sure?"
"My head, my head.." sobbing loudly, "it hurts."
"Okay, no blood? No bullets?"
Emily's eyes looked wildly around her body, "No oo, I don't."
"Here, look in here, and get two Tylenol."
That was several hours ago. Emily had slept since. Julie kept thinking that the poor girl had to be on sensory over-load. Julie knew what to expect when she left her house. She'd read about the Tribulation for years and she knew that lawlessness and hatred for Christians was only going to get worse, but poor Emily. Emily was just a girl. Julie brushed Emily's hair away from her face and the girl stirred. Julie prayed she was taking the path God intended for her to take. She prayed that Emily would be alright after that horrific scene this morning. She prayed they made it through the days ahead. It wasn't going to be easy.

Julie was almost asleep when she distinctly heard God speak to her. She'd been lying there in the darkness, looking toward the light, praying they'd be safe once they reached Oakland.
"GO TO LAKESHORE, THE TRIBULATION SAINTS ARE GATHERING IN LAKESHORE."
Now, Julie was rummaging through a dark convenient store looking for a map of California. She had to go to Lakeshore, but she had no idea where that was, or why she was told to go there. Without a doubt, she was going to find it and be there by morning. She didn't know if she was supposed to be a Tribulation Saint or if she was just supposed to relate to them what she'd seen, but she KNEW - FOR SURE God told her to go there. She guessed she'd know why when she got there.
Finally, a map - yep, there's Lakeshore, CA. That's where she was going. Odd - she couldn't help but notice it was near Oakland.
When she got back to the car, she flipped the radio on to see if the 'rebels' - as they were now being called - were still in Oakland. She knew she was going to Lakeshore, but she couldn't understand why if the other Christians were still in Oakland.

Emily woke hungry and scared. "Why are we driving at night? What about the curfew - come on, man - this is crap."
"Look, Emily, we've got to get to Lakeshore immediately. You really should think about how you speak to people. I know you've been through more than any girl should in the past few days, but you are going to have to depend on Jesus. You know the Bible tells us that God promises to take care of His children. If you want to grab my Bible, you can look up some verses for me and read them while I drive."
Emily sat quietly for about 10 minutes. She looked out the window as the car rolled down the Interstate. Every now and then Julie would slow down and maneveur around a car, but mostly they were moving along pretty quickly. It should've been dawn by now, but the sky had changed over the past 24 hours. Emily thinks for the first time that maybe she should listen when Julie is telling her about Jesus and God and the Bible - she wants to learn, it's just she's been sarcastic to adults so long...
"Emily, look up ahead."
The brillant light had come into view better after that last big hill. It seemed to be in the shape of a cylinder, and it went from the ground straight into Heaven. It was thousands of miles away, but it was bright enough to almost drown out the ugly sky. Just looking at it made Emily feel peaceful and full inside. She started crying, "Look, Julie, thanks for taking care of me. I do want to learn about God. Can you teach me?"
Julie smiled, "Well, I can try. Most likely, we'll be learning together. I'm dying to hear Psalm 18:2. Let's read that first. By the way, I'm here for you Emily."
Emily was already flipping to the Table of Contents to find Psalm. "The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my keen and firm Strength in Whom I will trust and take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my salvation, my High Tower." Emily looked expectantly at Julie, "What does it mean?"
"Well, I think it's saying the Lord is our Rock because he gives us strength, he is our Fortress because he will protect us, and our Deliverer because he sent His Son to save us. Does that make sense?"

The roads in southern California were so different from the roads back home. There were huge mountains here, back home there were so many woods and flat land. Julie thought - not for the first time - that she had made this trip without knowing why or who she would end up meeting once they got to the compound. She KNEW she was going because the magnificent voice from above told her to, but what her role would be once she got there - that's what she was grappling with now
Driving through Oakland was chaos for her. She hit the breaks as she watched a man point a gun at a woman about her age. Reaching into the glove box she pulled out the gun she had hidden there and told Emily to stay down and be quite. Opening the car door she slipped out and hid behind the door pointing the gun at the back the mans head. "Drop your weapon now or I will shoot." she yelled. The man turned and took aim at Julie. Before he could shoot Julie pulled the trigger and shot the gun out of the mans hand. The woman ran to Julie crying, as she fell into Julies the man took off running."Your safe now." she said holding her. They sat down in Julies car and Sarah told her how she had been trying to get to the collisium when the man tried to mug her. Julie told her about their trip and what the angel had told her about Lakeshore and offered to take Sarah with them. Sarah looked at her and Emily and asked if it would be to much trouble and they assured her that 3 was not a crowd but they needed to hurry.

The last road sign said 10 miles to the ramp. She thought it was maybe an hour off the interstate. Then Julie would be able to fellowship with other Christians. She thought maybe that's what she needed most right now. Emily had read several passages until lunch, then as soon as they got back on the road she fell asleep. Somehow it didn't seem to be enough. She needed a leader - someone to guide her, there is so much she doesn't know about the Bible, she teared up again when she thought about being a lukewarm Christian - never again! More than anything she hoped that Emily could find someone to counsel with - Julie just didn't feel prepared in that regard. As they drove it wasnt long before Sarah was fast asleep in the back seat. Julie pulled into a diner with an all night 24 hour sign. She decided to let Sarah sleep and bring her a sandwich when they finished.
Julie couldn't believe how lucky they'd been to find that diner open just on this side of the California border. When they'd pulled in, Emily didn't want to get out, but really who could blame her after the last experience with strangers. Julie had coaxed her out of the car and into the nicest little diner you ever saw, and the people were just as nice.
No that wasn't right either. The people that worked there were nice enough, but one of the customers really gave her the spooks! He looked like a Fed - you know the type, black suit, black tie, polished black shoes, dark shades - almost like Men in Black. Very odd. He stared at Julie and Emily from the moment they walked in the door. Nothing really stood out about him and maybe that's what bothered Julie so about him. As they bowed their heads to bless their food, Julie also asked God to protect them against the evils of this world. She felt now that was the only reason Mr. Black-Suit didn't arrest her right there.
Finally, she saw the exit - okay, about an hour and they'd be there. She didn't even bother pulling the ipod buds off Emily's ear. She also didn't notice the car behind her - the one that had been following her since she left the diner.

Life in the compound was off to a truly blessed start. It was obvious that this place was created to be an oasis in the midst of hell on earth. Many needed supplies we already here ...long before these recents events had begun to unfold. However...there were still a few things needed that were coming to the attention of Rabbi and Brother Aaron ...and so it was obvious they were going to need to send out a team to gather a few of the most vital necessities.
After a word in prayer Aaron called over a couple of let's say ...athletically blessed brother's ...both guys would give you pause if you met them in a dark alley but as we will soon learn...have hearts of the softest teddy bears. Both the Hulk like men walked over with curiosity ..."Pastor? My name is Terry..and this is my cousin Dave...what can we do for you? well we have a list of supplies that we need and the Lord has impressed upon us to send you two out..will that be ok?" "Sure we have been itching to help in someway" "Well here's the List...outside one of our dear brother's has donated his Blue Extended Cab pick up truck for our services ...you can take that ..ok" "Sure Brother Aaron..we will be glad too"
Dave and Terry headed out of the compound and down the interstate a few miles to a Convenience Store to retrieve the items on the list.
Julie saw a gas station up ahead, but she was nervous and couldn't decide whether or not to stop. She couldn't tell if it was the same as the others she'd been to along the way - deserted. But she figured it would be since the past 75 miles had been the longest of her trip. She noticed a black car behind them about 25 miles ago and that frightened her. Who would be following her out here? Glancing back she saw that Sarah was still sleeping. "Poor girl." she thought to herself. That mugger had really scared her.
She'd heard on the radio that rioting and moral decay was rampant. What seemed so foreign to her was most reporters thought the moral decay was exciting, some even seemed relieved to be "free" to do wrong at their will. Oh, if only they would realize that their will was not the WILL OF GOD. So many lost souls. She'd prayed many times over the past few days for God to show her His plan for her out here, but of course, she should've known better. If she'd learned anything in her 32 years, it was that God did everything in His own time and His time was perfect.
As she slowed down to turn into the gas station, she noticed a blue truck on the side of the building. She prayed quietly, "Lord, You know this situation, You know who these people are and who that is following us. Please protect and keep us according to Your will. Amen."

Julie pulled in and circled the parking lot. She thought of just leaving - why encourage another encounter with non-believers? After the looks that Federal Agent was giving her at the diner, well, she wasn't sure about anything right now. Just then, she saw the black Lincoln that had been following her. She kept telling herself the black Lincoln was some other new Christian being led to Lakeshore, but she didn't really believe it in her heart. Maybe it was all the years in a law firm, but she was very pessimistic and sometimes hard-headed to a point - well, to the point of being left behind.
She decided to pull back in and take her chances that the blue truck was abandoned. She pulled on the back side and just then she saw two men. They were tall, broad-shouldered and smiling at her. Julie thought that must be a good sign. She slowed and rolled down her window, but kept her car far enough away that she could get away if they tried to grab her. "Hey, I need gas. Do yall know if this store's open?"
Terry saw the car when it passed the first time. They thought it'd pulled out so Dave said, "Let's get outta here, we don't want no trouble." They were rushing to the truck when the lady and teenage girl circled back through. Dave figured they were harmless because he said, "It's closed, but the pump's are working. Where ya goin'?
Julie replied, "Lakeshore."
"That's where all the Tribulation Saints are meeting up - are you a Christian?" David wanted to know.
"Yes, I am. Listen, I'm glad God put you in my path. There's someone following me, a Federal Agent, I think." Sarah stirred in the backseat. "Whats going on?" she asked
Terry said, "Shhh, I hear a car coming. Get out and you three get in the store! Dave come this way, and be quiet!"
The black car pulled into the parking lot....and slowed almost to an idle. Terry says to Dave "hey ..lets make like we work here" Terry goes to the pump and waves the black suspicious car on up..the car eases up to Terry...and rolls down the dark tinted windows..."How much you need?" "The strange man rolls down his window and his eyes dart back an forth over the surroundings"..."uhhh go a head and fill it up...have you seen the three girls that were in that car over there?" "Uh no sir...are they in some kind of trouble?" The agent flashes a badge...."Not yet...just under suspicion ....Terry takes the badge and as he starts to hand it back......SMACK...he knocks the agent out cold...and tosses his badge over to Dave.."keep that ...it might come in handy" "they drag the agent inside the empty store and tie him up" Ok ladies ...he won't be a problem to you anymore....but just to be safe..why don't you ditch your car here...I am sure he has reported your vehicle and it's license plate.....hop in with us and we'll head back and introduce you to Rabbi and Brother Aaron."

Julie could hardly believe how easy that was for Dave and Terry. The Lord had blessed she and Emily and Sarah with guardian angels right here on earth. Now how 'bout that. There were several turns and a couple of long dirt roads before the compound came into view.
It didn't look so much like a compound as it did a kid's summer camp. There seemed to be two major buildings, one had a sign 'The Hall' - presumably the "mess hall"; and the other said "Admin." In neat little rows - twenty to twenty-five deep - were the cutest little log cabin type buildings. There were people everywhere. To her right she saw row of men and women completing a series of drills - like running through tires and such. On her left she saw a class being taught to clean guns and a class women taking a self-defense class. Julie finally understood - God would use her to further His Kingdom - bottom line.
The truck came to a stop, and Terry said, "Ladies, meet Rabbi and Brother Aaron."

Rabbi Abraham was so excited as he watched Andy put the final encrptions into the now running website. He had been working all day on his first publication to go out to the people all over the world. Andy had not been able to bring the speakers with him on his way back from San Francisco and that was the only thing left to install. He left the Rabbi to head for the basement to see what he could find. Andy made the descent down the basement stairs.

Al: “Are we on?” Tapping the microphone with his finger.
Hal: “we are back on.”
Al: “Hello folks, sorry about being off air for a few days but with the power outages and cell towers not working we have been busy trying to secure a phone line and generator for our station. It looks like Bobby our studio director got it all figured out so hopefully we will be live from here on out.
Hal: “The power outage is not the only thing keeping us off the air, it seems as if the whole world has gone mad. Some people think it is quit funny to go around burning cars, looting stores and just plain doing things that are against the law. Yesterday while we were waiting for a gas, five men with guns, clubs and who knows what else walked down the gas lines demanding money. What really got me mad was the fact that a Police officer was standing on the other side of the road and he did nothing.”
Al: “Well I think he was out numbered and when those men pulled that young lady out of the car and started stripping her down all the people around started cheering. I felt sorry for her husband; all he could do was set in the car and watch.”
Hal: “I know I just wanted to go up to him and give him a hug.”
Al: “You would. Now everyone let me catch you up to speed where we are and what are plans are. With the fuel prices the way they are and all the check points going up we have to change our plans just a little bit. We are still heading across the country and we still want to talk to everyone but at $15.00 a gallon for fuel and this bus takes a lot of fuel we will now have to start charging people to place personnel ads on the air. Now we know everyone is looking for a loved one but we are not the lost and found department.”
Hal: “That’s right Al, for now on if you want to tell Aunt Betty that you’re alright it will cost you, $50.00”
Al: “And we will no longer give people rides, the last woman, cried the whole 300 miles. Hey Donnie pull over there in that parking lot, I want to talk to some fans.”
The bus moved slowly around some cars that had been abandoned then eased into the Wal-Mart parking lot. Hundreds of people stood outside waiting for the store to open. Finding a place to park was easy since most cars had been burned or piled up for whatever reason people had. Donnie picked a wide clear area then stopped the bus he didn’t like the idea of people slowly walking over towards them but that is what his bosses wanted so who was he to say something.

Andy comes racing out of his underground office like a little kid 'thank you Jesus...Thank you Jesus" "Rabbi..Rabbi ..brother Aaron" "what is it Andy" "well you might not appreciate this like I do...BUT I had been praying for a way to send a message to all the believers who might try and access the old raptureready and link them on over to Tribsurvivors.com and while I was praying ... the Lord said...well how do you come to Me? "Through the Son" ...so anyway I was able to apply a pop up for each time raptureready is requested...it will ask "The way to the Father is?" THROUGH THE SON they all SPOKE UP...YES and the cool thing is once they are in the system I can add a special encryption to each individual's web address who access our site not only for our protection but there's as well! THANK YOU JESUS they all shouted in chorus..The Lord is definitely guiding our steps huh Rabbi? He sure is my son..He sure is!

Terry introduced the new arrivals to Brother Aaron, who gave them a warm welcome and told them to make themselves at home. David took them out to the cabins and appointed them one. "You guys can have this one, its close to the main hall and easy access for you. Why dont you relax a while and then freshen up for dinner. It should be in about an hour, ok?" " Sounds good to me " said Julie. "Hopefully that agent back at the store is not tracking us any more". " I doubt that" said David. "He was out cold and I dont think he will be bothering us again if ever".
