Are They Ready For This?

Kenny Brutus felt the cool breeze of the wind tickle his neck. His coffee was shaking and spilling all over his hand as he stood on the ship, watching the sea in the distance. Where exactly was this Israeli Military Ship heading? Wasn’t part of the peace treaty meant the Israel would have peace? He took a swig of coffee and turned around to suddenly see his captain, staring him in the eye.

He automatically straightened his back, “Yes sir?” he asked. He watched, slowly and angrily, as the captain picked up his coffee and dumped it into the sea. The captain edged up close to Kenny.

“Never again,” he muttered, “Not on my ship. Do you understand?” Kenny gulped and stared the man down. It was easy to stare down someone only 5 feet 9.

“Yes sir,” he said, quickly walking away.

It had been quite some time since Kenny shot down two rebel-American ships that were coming “in the name of Jesus.” His captain-commander had ordered him to shoot down the unarmed ships that posed no threat to them at all, besides so-called annoyance.

“Something on the radar!” he heard someone scream.

“Shoot it down!” a less-then happy voice replied.

Kenny wanted to vomit.

Raven watched as Chantel walked out of the room. There was something about her…was it her physique? Her mysterious attitude as she winked at him and walked away? Or was he amazed by Chantel, just being attracted to her? He carefully watched as her cross necklace swayed when she walked.

Raven took a deep breath and focused his eyes on the president. “Rough meeting,” he barked, trying to tackle the president from a friendly way.

“Don’t be too hard on yourself, David,” the president laughed him off, “It’s all hard when you are into politics.”

“Operation Extirpation is now a go…in our country.”

The president didn’t reply. He just gathered himself and sat at his desk.

“David,” he asked, “Could you leave, please…now? Not to be rude, but I have work to do.”

Raven slowly got up and walked away towards the door. “I guess I’ll show myself out,” he whispered.
“Goodbye David!” he heard before he shut the door.

Jerome jerked awake, noticing his house was dark and that he had fallen asleep, the bible on his lap as he sat on the floor, hunched over with his back aching from the awkward position. He slowly massaged the muscles in his neck as he recalled what had happened last night:

He had opened his bible for the first time.

And what he found had shook him to his core. Jerome had flown through the Gospels at breakneck speed, making it all the way through 2 Corinthians. Jesus had died a horrible death on a crude tree for him! The thought blew his mind. His analytical tendencies were on overdrive as he tried to understand, tried to comprehend what Jesus was thinking, why he had died for someone so unworthy as Jerome. I mean by god, I'm working for a man considered by some to be the Antichrist! The thought shook Jerome to his very core, causing a cold shiver to creep into his bones.

He found himself desperate for comfort, for answers, for reassurance, for something. He was startled to find himself turning to Psalms. Jerome's eyes raced across the pages, clinging to the words like a safety net. Psalms 5:8: "Show me clearly how you want me to live." Psalms 16:1: "Protect me, God, because I trust in you." Psalms 17:8: "Protect me as you would protect your own eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings." Jerome muttered these verses unconsciously, admiring the writer and wishing he could have this type of trust and relationship with a higher power.

Or with anyone for that matter.

Jerome was a lonely bachelor. He had a very "religious" family back in England, but their "fanaticism" drove him away at an early age and he found himself in college with a place of his own. Jerome believed that this freedom would make him happy, but something was always missing. He tried to fill it with girls, schoolwork, booze, experiments...but nothing seemed to work. Chalking it up to being young and new in the real world, Jerome worked hard and was finally noticed. At age 24 he was practically raced out of college and into a position at the U.N. as an intelligence gatherer. He was asked to find information on anything the U.N. needed, and once Teodor took over, Jerome became his assistant. His...his 2nd. The thought alone made him shiver again. Teodor was proud of him, proud of his loyalty and respect. At one time those compliments were the most important thing to him, but something was telling him Teodor had a darker side...the Bible was practically yelling that Teodor was bad news.

A tear fell down Jerome's cheek as he thought of his family: his mother with the kind eyes and the dimpled smile, his father with the deep, gruff voice but the kind heart. His little sister Tanya, eyes shining with excitement everytime Jerome would visit. All of them were taken in the Disappearances. Jerome had grieved and grieved, having no idea where they were or what had happened. None of the theories made sense, but he reluctantly chose to believe what the government had told him, at least at the time.

Now...now things were different. The bible was showing him Truth. Or at least he hoped so. He turned his red-rimmed eyes back to Psalms, reading through the comforting passages where David expressed absolute trust in the Lord despite what seemed to be overwhelming difficulties. "Hm..even as David begged God to save him from his enemies and asked him why He wasn't doing anything, he continued to praise God and trust Him. It's remarkable." Jerome wondered why he couldn't trust like David.

What was holding him back?

Jerome was startled when a gentle voice answered his unspoken question, inside his head. Your inability to trust anything or anyone you cannot see. You need evidence and proof, my child, and it has been provided to you in my Word.

Jerome cried out softly, shocked. "Wha-what? Who are you? What was that?"

Jerome could almost sense the...the "owner" of the voice smile. It is your Father in heaven, my dear child.

"My-my father? I don't understand. My father was taken in the Disappearances. And your voice is different...I can't even describe it."

I am the Lord your God, dear Jerome. My love for you cannot be measured. I have called you by name. All you must do is believe in Me and accept the gift of grace paid for on the Cross.

"But--but I don't know what to do!"

You know what you must do my child, for I have shown you in the Scriptures.

"But---but---but why do I have to do this? I've been a good person my entire life. Yeah, maybe I messed up a few times, but compared to most people...I'm not all that bad." Jerome was shocked to find himself shaking violently and full of fear.

Good deeds alone does not guarantee your salvation, for what good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

A verse came to Jerome's mind, which in normal circumstances would be impossible considering he had only read these verses once. He muttered it out loud: "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus...Romans 3:23-24...so I am justified by Your grace due to Christ's sacrifice?"

The joy radiating from the voice warmed Jerome to the core. Well done my child. Now you know what you must do. Jerome kneeled, pressing his forehead against the cool wood floor of his living room. "Lord, I am sorry for rejecting you all these years. My family knew the truth, they tried to tell me...but I just wouldn't listen. Thank you for giving me this second chance. Thank you for your sacrifice on the Cross, for dying for me and taking the punishment I deserve. I know I am a sinner and that I need your grace. I want to spend eternity with you Lord...and with my family. I give my life over to you, and I pray you will use me according to your will." The sobs were coming harder now, and he beat his fist against the floor in shame. "I'm so sorry Lord! I'm so sorry for ignoring you! I can't believe I pushed the King of Kings away when all you wanted to do was love me!" He collapsed in a heap, tears of shame and joy flowing. He was full of conflicting emotions.

Jerome quieted as he felt a comforting presence soothe him, and suddenly he felt...lighter. Like something had been lifted from him. His guilt and shame was replaced with a sense of having a clean slate. Joy began to overcome him and he raised his hands to heaven in praise. "Thank you Jesus! Thank you!"

Muttering to himself, Bill was angry for getting himself in this situation. He knew that he should have had somebody else with him before going out to the Auer farm. Now here he is, stranded and out of cell phone range. The only thing he could do is to start walking. But which way should he go? Back to the main road, or to the Auer farm? To Bill, common sence would be go to back to the main road, but there was a strurring inside of him to go to the farm. "Lord, what should I do? Which way do you want me to go? Please guide me Lord."
At that moment, Bill knew he had to go to the farm. It was still a few miles away and at his age it would take awhile but he decided to go anyway. As Bill was walking down the two-track, he was overcome by the beauty of nature. The tall trees, the signs of animal life, the quiet serenity of the moment had struck Bill to the core. He always loved the woods. But for the first time in his life, nature presented itself as a perfect work of art. Bill knew that the only one that could create something so wonderful was God himself. "I wonder if this is what it will look like in heaven?" he said aloud.
Bill continued on his journey and every once in a while would look back over his shoulder and now the truck was completely out of sight.

After about an hour of walking, Bill needed to sit down and take a break. His legs were getting stiff, he hasn't walked this far in years. Picking a spot under a tall pine tree, Bill sits down with his back resting against the trunk of the tall evergreen. While he was sitting there grumbling about his predicament and his achy legs, there was a faint growning coming from behind him. Looking around trying to determine if there was something there or if it was his imagination running wild, Bill noticed a slight movement under some leaves about 15 feet away. Panic overcame him, then he heard the groans again. It sounded human. Bill quickly got up and ran over to the spot and brushed away the leaves, and to his amazment there was a young boy laying there with dried blood all over his face and arms. Bill quickly puts his fingers to the boys neck and finds a light pulse.
"Thirsty" was the only word the boy could get out.
"Ok son, I will get you out of here and we will find some water and try and get you fixed up."
Bill picks the boy up and drapes him over his shoulder and started to walk as quickly as he could carrying the heavy load of this boy. Bill knew he had to make it to the Auer farm.

Back at the shop, Amy opened up her email and seen that there were trib warriors asking for medical supplies, HPEC systems, security systems and general hand tools. The next email she opened was a prayer request for a good working rototiller. With a big smile on her face, she replies to the email and writes, " Your prayer will be answered. God has provided your needs. During our area seachs we found several items used for farming and brought them back to the shop just for this purpose. Our pilot is currently away from the shop, and our new friend Sam is currently doing some deliverys. As soon as we can get one of the pilots to make a delivery, your rototiller will be on the plane."

Jim and John were in the manufacturing area of the shop putting the final touches on the new drop boxes they were building. These boxes have parachutes attached so that they can be dropped from the plane, and keep the plane in the air. They were pleased with their creativity. The one criteria that MD had given them for the boxes, is that the box and the chute had to be able to be used by the trib warriors for other purposes, then just delivering the cargo. With this in mind, they decided to add solar panels to the top of the boxes and placed hinges and a latch on one side of the box, creating a door. They lined the box with tubing and filled the tubing with refridgerant 12. The walls of the box were double lined, with gel packets between the inside and outside wall of the box. The gel packets served the purpose of softening the blow, once the box hit the ground and also served as ice packs once the box was emptied of its cargo and could now be used as a solar powered freezer. They made the entire box with ultra light weight materials. The total box with the chute would weigh about 40 lbs. The chute was made of blanktes and sheets collected during there scavenger hunts. They took the sheets and double stiched them to give them extra strength.

With a feeling of accomplishment, Jim took a note pad and wrote...
1st delivery box complete
Box can be used a solar power freezer once the cargo is removed
Used sheets and blankets for the chute, trib warriors will definatly need them.
Parachute cord can be used for rope.

Jim then took the note pad and dropped it off on Amy's desk to let her know what they have completed.

When Amy sat back down at her desk and seen the note, she was filled with joy knowing that the first box would contain the rototiller she had promised. Now all she needed was for one of the pilots to make contact and she could set up the delivery.

Amy has been working for hours on her computer and has successfully found quite a few pockets of believers between the US and Canada. As she sits there overwhelmed by the responses she is getting, one recent email really stands out to her. There was a request for a bunch of medical supplies, tools and cabinets. Amy doesn’t understand the necessity of all this stuff, she just knows that this order has to be placed at the top of the list, but still doesn’t know why. Amy grabs the phone and dials the number for the intercom, and pages Doug to the office.
As Doug enters in, Amy's face is just glowing with excitement.. "I never knew that providing God's warriors with the stuff they need, would bring so much satisfaction."
Doug who was equally excited, "I know what you mean, I have only been doing this Lords work stuff for a couple of months, but it has been the best couple of months in my entire life. I have never felt so satisfied with my work, until now."
"Doug the reason I called you in here is I need to know if you can build the following items for me..."
A Steel cabinet for storage
Medical instruments such as scalpels, hemostats, and other various medical tools
An operating table
An instrument table
A special refrigerator for medical needs such as blood and plasma

"I have pics and dimensions for each item, can you do it?"
Doug takes a step back as he smiles, "You know we can do anything that you want. We have all the talent in house to please even the toughest customers...Just give my your plans and photos and we will git-r-done"
Doug retrieves the plans and photos from Amy and rushes off into the shop, shouthing.."Everyone gather round. We have a priority job and I want everyone's absolute undivided attention. This job must be completed ASAP so it can be delivered to the people who need this equipment."

Amy is sitting back in awe watching how Doug rolls out his orders and all of the people working for him show him undivided loyalty.

"We have everything in house to put this together in a matter of a few hours" stated Doug to the group.

With excitement in his voice, Doug points to the group of guys that are showing the work that they have completed. And tells MD,,"We have completed our most recent order, and this is our best work to date, you will be so happy."

As Doug walks over to the staging area where all of the newly fabricated items are, he shows MD the new operating table....
"This table is one of a kind, we made it out of stainless steel. We installed drawers on all 4 sides, we mounted a touch screen monitor to allow the Dr. to scan the vitals, and what’s really cool about this table is it voice activated by the surgeon. All he has to do is speak into the microphone while he is doing his procedure and the sensors refer to the medical encyclopedia to give the surgeon all the information that he needs during the operation."

"Over here, we built a storage cabinet,(The request was for a steel cabinet, but we chose to use aluminum to keep it light weight) for all of the medical supplies.. Austin really went all out and installed a computer that tracks inventory. Once an item is removed, or if an item is added, the computer calculates the inventory value and prints out the adjustments so that the medical team can keep track of their supplies."

"Over here is not your ordinary Fridgidare... We made a couple of changes, first of all we gutted the fridge and customized the shelving, then we placed a couple of add-ons to the side of the fridge to increase storage capacity. Each area of the fridge is temperature controlled with the newest version of Yokogawa controllers. This fridge can be hot on one side and cold on the other. And best of all, the people stocking this thing can dictate what zone inside the fridge gives off the temperature desired."

"And last but not least, we offer the instrument table and all of its accessories, the table is compact so that it will fit into any space, it has folding shelves so that multiple surgical tools can be stored in a tight space and it is made from the strongest alloy of stainless steel that it can be ran over by a freight train and still hold its integrity."
Doug starts to pull the surgical instruments from the table and explains how they are made from a new alloy steel that will hold its edge forever, keep its shape, and be reusable with the sterilization station located under the main table."

MD and Amy started discussing the projects that needed to be delived. Neither of them had heard from Bill all day. They were starting to worry that something has happened to him.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Belle was humming as she put together another sandwich. Her mission trips seemed to be successful for the most part. There were some that she knew were close to accepting Christ, while others only wanted the food she brought. She had been overjoyed to discover that Mo and his girlfriend Devon had accepted Christ. When she had visited yesterday afternoon, Mo had quietly told her. She had wanted to jump for joy, but Mo had cautioned her not to. Confused, Belle had looked at Devon across the room. Devon had walked over.
“Could you show Belle to the restroom?”
Belle had been even more confused, but quietly followed Devon. Once inside the bathroom, Devon had explained that Mo was certain that several members had, or were close to accepting Christ. But there were still several who hadn’t. He was uncertain, but felt that there was tension within his gang. It was subtle, but there was something going on. There were a couple of members who Mo wasn’t certain he could trust anymore. There was something different, like a hatred between believers and unbelievers in the gang.
Mo had been secretly meeting with a rival gang member, also a believer, who had reported similar issues within his gang. The two leaders were planning a way for the believers to break away from their gangs.
That was all Devon had been able to tell her before someone had knocked on the restroom door. Leaving the room, Belle had walked back into the living room and sat down. As she sat, she began to feel the tension. She began to look around the room, and a feeling of ill will definitely radiated from some of the members.
She caught Devon’s eye, and gave her a nod. Devon gave her a sad smile, and nodded in return. Feeling more and more unease Belle had decided to leave. Picking up her purse she had patted Mo’s shoulder. Leaned down and whispered. “I’m so happy to have you as a brother in Christ. May the Lord be with you, and may He guide your steps.”
Belle had walked out of the house with the feeling that malicious eyes watched her every step.
Leon had opened the car door for her, and Belle had felt her heart stutter. She had forgotten the boy was with her. She had asked him to drive them home, and upon arriving she had went straight to bed.
Belle leaned down to put another sandwich in the cooler, when she felt her heart begin to race. She sat down and pressed her hand to her chest. “Just a little more time Lord. That’s all I ask. Just a little more time to do Your work.”

On the Ranch

Frank laughed at the antics of Matt and Nathan. Both boys had been harassing each other throughout the meal.
“If you boys don’t stop with your shenanigans right now...” Maddie let the threat trail off.
Tansy was hiding her smile behind her coffee cup. She looked over at her husband. He was openly laughing. It was the first time since they had move to Boise City that she had seen him truly relaxed.
Kristen and Tori were both sweet, intelligent girls. There was something about them both that made Tansy long to hold them close and never let them go. Kristen had scars on her face and arms that made Tansy suspect that the young girl’s life had been difficult. There were times when the girl had a look about her, a look that indicated she had seen and endured things no child should have had to.
Tori would get a far away look on occasion and Tansy sensed there was something bothering the girl. She also sensed that the girl wouldn’t be pushed about it. She was very curious about the education center, and had offered her services to help them install a private untraceable line in the center and at their home. She was obviously very technically capable.
Tansy looked at Zoe. Zoe had told her how she had come to Christ, and Tansy had been struck by the loss in Zoe’s eyes when she spoke of her twin Jade. The two had had a very tight bond between them. Tansy knew that Zoe struggled with the loss, but also looked forward to the day that she would be reunited with her sister.
Looking at Trevor, Tansy discovered that he was covertly looking over his shoulder. There was an injured man in one of the guest rooms, and Trevor’s worry over the mans condition was obvious. As a surgical nurse, Trevor took the health of all his ’family’ very seriously. He had offered his services to Tansy and Frank if they ever had a need. Tansy was grateful for the offer and asked him if perhaps he could make a trip to Oklahoma City to check on Franks mother Belle. Trevor had agreed that he would go as soon as he could.
Shade, Maddie’s husband took a bit of getting used to. Tansy had never seen such a large man before. Her mouth had dropped open at seeing him. Frank had told her he was a big man, but she had still been stunned at the shear size of the man. After collecting her wits she had shook his hand, and noticed that despite his size he was extremely gentle. Also there was the way he treated his wife and the girls, especially his gentle nature around Kristen, and that had put Tansy at ease in no time.
Tansy noticed that Maddie and Kristen were gathering the dishes and she jumped up to help. After cleaning up, they all sat back at the table and began to do bible study. Shade led the prayer. “Father, thank You for the blessing of another day. Thank You for our new friends Frank and Tansy. We would also like to thank You for Your promise that at the end of these seven years that we will all be with You. Father You have given us a promise that You will never leave or forsake us, and that promise is all that we need. We ask now that You would open our ears, hearts and minds as we study Your Word. We ask that Your hand of protection would be over us, and that You would lead and guide us to do Your will. Give us courage when we need it, give us strength when our own fails, and give us love for our enemies. We ask all this in Jesus name, Amen.”
Tansy looked up with tears in her eyes and saw that Frank’s eye’s were also misty. They both smiled and then turned their attention to the verses Shade began to read.

Heb 10:12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right of God,
Heb 10:13 from then on expecting until His enemies are made His footstool.
Heb 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are sanctified.
Heb 10:15 The Holy Spirit also is a witness to us; for after He had said before,
Heb 10:16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord; I will put My Laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"
Heb 10:17 also He adds, "their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more."
Heb 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Heb 10:19 Therefore, brothers, having boldness to enter into the Holy of Holies by the blood of Jesus,
Heb 10:20 by a new and living way which He has consecrated for us through the veil, that is to say, His flesh;
Heb 10:21 and having a High Priest over the house of God,
Heb 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies having been washed with pure water.
Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering (for He is faithful who promised),
Heb 10:24 and let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works,
Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 but a certain fearful looking for judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He who despised Moses' Law died without mercy on the word of two or three witnesses.
Heb 10:29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Heb 10:30 For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, says the Lord." And again, "The Lord shall judge His people."
Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Commander Beebe and the USS Ross were 10 miles away, when the first missile hit. As the explosions followed, he knew what had happen so he turned his ship around and raced back to the area.
“Set the sea and rescue detail”
Five miles away the Ross crew could see flames shooting high into the sky and could start to see the whole sea around the wreckage burn from the fuel.
“Lord, have mercy on those men” Hank Beebe said.
“Combat, any word or sound from the sub?”
“Negative sir, we did pick up an under explosion about the same time as the others ones.”
“Very well keep me posted”
“What happen down there Jack” Hank asked himself
The Ross moved closer to the wreckage and all hands were on deck watching and looking for any survivors. “This is the Captain speaking, I want everyone attention.” Hank paused a second to ensure everyone was ready to listen. “The wreckage we are at is from the two former US and Canadian ships that were after us. These men on these ship felt lead to change flags, why? We don’t know and we don’t know if everyone had a choice in the matter. If anyone is found alive, I want total comfort and care given to everyone we find. These men were just a month ago our brothers and sisters and until I speak to each one personally we will treat them that way. If I hear and see any abuse of anyone I will personally lock the door behind you as you step into the brig. I’m I clear on this? If anyone doubts and has a problem with this order you can come see me. That is all”
The glow from the fires was enough to see the carnage; the first ship had sunk while the second one was listing to her port side fully on fire. The crew of the Ross did find three bodies floating at first and they had the small motor whale boat pick them up but after that nothing.
“CIC to Bridge, Sir we have an air contact 300 miles and closing, stand by for IF ID.”
Hank knew they would be coming but he had hoped to pick up any survivors if he could. Quick figuring in his head he figured 20 minutes tops but with his men possible in danger he had to act quicker. “Officer of the Deck call back the whaleboat, Conn please stand by to get us out of here, flank speed.”
“Aye Captain, what course?”
Anywhere but here and away from the inbound.”
“Aye sir”
Hank was standing on the port bridge wing watching his crew retrieve the whale boat. “Quickly men” he said to himself as he heard CIC give the bridge another update. The air contact was an old P3 the US sold to another country many years ago. It was not a big threat to his ship for attacks but they could report information back to whomever. The whaleboat was hoisted up and cleared the water when the conning officer gave the command “Ahead flank, new course 351.”
Captain Beebe headed back into the bridge when the port lookout, reported a submarine was surfacing off their port quarter. Turning around, Hank looked where the young teenager was pointing. Sure enough the bow of a sub was coming out of the water.
“Good job, Seaman Bentley.”
“Conn, all stop. OOD tell CIC to track the inbound P3, if it gets within 50 miles, shoot it down.”
“Aye sir” Both men shouted as they followed his orders.
“Conn, get out here, I want us 200 feet from the sub once it is on the surface. Get the boat crew ready for possible ship to ship transfers and have medical stand by incase of injuries.”
Over the GA speaker the crew was told to keep clear of the main and the forward missile deck since missile launch could take place at anytime.
The sub raised up out of the water like it was shot out of a gun. Once it settled down and finally came to rest on the surface, hatches opened up and men were climbing out of as fast as possible.
“Get me a bull horn” Hank shouted to the bridge crew.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Raul had good news. He had found a rather large house on an estate outside city limits. The previous owners had obviously been believers. It was surrounded by a security fence, and Raul had personally gone inside to discover although dusty and smelling of must, the house was indeed vacant. There was a treasure trove of Bibles, food, and study materials. Upon entry the alarm had gone off, but Raul had quickly disengaged it. After several minutes no police had shown up and Raul had left Migel to watch the house for the rest of the day and night. No one had shown up to investigate the alarm. That morning Raul had gone to the estate and done a full inventory. There was enough food in the pantries and freezers to last several months. There were several cars in the garage each full of fuel, and a thousand gallon fuel tank outside the garage. Whomever had lived there had left a letter in the big Bible that sat in the entryway on a podium. They had prepared the house for any new believer who had been left behind. The Lord had put it on their hearts that their home be used to fulfill the needs of those people. Raul dropped to his knees and thanked God for the people and their foresight. Raul stayed on his knees for several minutes thanking God for His provision.
When Raul finished telling Mo the news both men sent praises to God, and began making plans. Raul gave Mo the directions and they agreed that they would begin moving that next day. They would both be very careful to only take members that they were certain were believers. They both hated the thought that they would leave members of their gangs behind, but it would be best if they ministered to them on the street and not take a chance that they would be turned in by unbelivers later on. What was most important to both men was spreading the gospel to as many people on the city as possible, and providing a safe haven for the persecution to come.
Mo shook hands with Raul and left the alley and was telling Skunk the good news when suddenly Skunk shoved him to the side. Mo went down hard. He heard the echo of the gunshot and quickly rolled behind a trash can. He saw Skunk lying on the ground five feet from him, his gun aimed at a figure standing on a fire escape. Skunk pulled the trigger and the figure fell to the pavement, landing on top of Mo.
Raul and his second in command Miguel came rushing out of the alley their guns drawn. Seeing Skunk on the ground Raul ordered Miguel to pull him into the shadows in case the shooter wasn't alone. Rushing over to Mo he rolled the dead man over. Mo sat up wincing at the pain in his shoulder. "Do you know this man?" Raul asked him.
"Yes. His name is Zack. He's one of my top men." Mo sat staring at the man. "I had a feeling he could no longer be trusted."
Raul gave a short nod. "Miguel? How is Skunk."
"It's not good. We need to get him to a hospital." Miguel answered.
"No. No hospital." Skunk wheezed.
"He's right." Mo and Raul both said.
"He's bleeding bad. What do we do?" Miguel asked.
Mo looked at Raul. "I need to make a call."

Sam radioed Amy that he would be there in about thirty minutes and would be willing to take the next shipment. He had sent a message to Christina that he would be a late getting back because he had another drop for MD and Amy. She had sent him a message that they were making progress on the food supply chain and other supplies. Linda and Amy were making blankets and clothes as quickly as they could sew and Shannon had gotten everything well organized. She had told him that Jason was missing again, but Steven and Bud were out trying to find him. The men had found lots of batteries, pipe, aluminum scraps and tons of things he could take to the machine shop for MD and his crew.

Sam landed at the airfield where Bill had instructed him he could get fuel, no questions asked. He fueled the plane and did a maintenance check before putting the plane back in the air heading north. "Lord, please give us safety as we deliver supplies to believers. Bless all those working hard so those who have come to know You will be able to survive whatever the AC has in mind for us. Thank You, Lord for MD, Amy, and all those at the shop working so hard. Lord, I especially ask that You guide Steven and Bud in finding Jason and Lord, please soften his heart so that he might truly turn to You. I praise Your name and glorify You. Amen." Sam felt such peace in the air, yet he knew it wouldn't always be this way.
God had created such beauty and he didn't understand how humans didn't understand there was no way this could have happened any other way......but by God's hand. He had always believed God had created the world, but he hadn't always believed in Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Now that he had accepted the gift of salvation and was living for Jesus, he just didn't understand why others didn't do the same.

He turned his thoughts back to preparing to land at the airstrip. He radioed Amy, "I'm about fifteen minutes away. I will wait for the coordinates and be back in the air in less than an hour."
Amy answered, "Sending Doug and the boys out with the latest shipment. He will give you the coordinates when he sees you. Oh, and thank you Sam. We haven't heard from Bill in quite a while so we appreciate you helping out."
"No problem, Amy, glad to help. Bill will be ok. God is with him," he said trying to reassure Amy.
"Did you get the lists from Shannon and Christina? She said they had a lot of scrap metal for the shop so I will pick it up when I go home tonight."
"Yes, she sent the list this morning. It's all going to work out well. Thank you, Sam."
"You are welcome. Tell the guys I'll see them in just a few. Over and out."

Steven, Bud and Tom unloaded all the scrap metal, batteries, and gas cans that they had collected that morning. Steven and Bud were sorting through all their treasures deciding what to send to the machine shop and what they could use. Kerri approached the men, "I was able to get most of the garden planted this morning. Jason disappeared again. I'm sorry, but I was preoccupied with trying to keep the tiller running and I lost site of him."
Steven put his hand on Kerri's shoulder, "You did the best you could and none of us blame you. Bud and I will start looking for him. Can you help Tom get the pole barn started? We found a lot of wood we could use and we need to keep this stuff protected from the weather."
"I think we should be able to get something up in a few hours, if we work nonstop," said Tom.
"Yeah, I need a break from working in the dirt. I have a new appreciation for all farmers because that's hard work," Kerri sighed.
Christina walked toward the men and told them she had heard from Sam. She told Stephen he would be praying for them to find Jason and bring him back safely. She watched as Stephen and Bud got out the four wheelers to begin the search for Jason. They all gathered in a circle to pray for guidance and the strength to bring Jason back unharmed. Bud leaned over to Tom and said, "You and Kerri get a pistol and arm yourselves. We don't know what he will do and it's best to be prepared. Take care of the place while we're gone."
"You got it. Be careful. God's speed."
The two men took off and turned to wave as they disappeared into the woods. Christina turned to walk back inside when a shot rang out.
