Are They Ready For This?

When Bill finally arived back at the shop, Amy heard the truck rumbling into the parking area. Amy jumped up out of her seat and rushed outside, catching Bill climbing out of the cab. Amy threw her arms around him almost knocking him to the ground. "I'm so glad your back, I was so worried about you. We thought something bad really happened to you...." Bill interupted by simply saying "thank you"
"Please tell me what happened, you had me terrified that...."
Once again Bill interupted her by saying.."Thank you, I missed you guys too. Let me get into the building and I will tell you all about my trip to the Auer farm. But could I please get up off of this truck," he said.

All the guys at the shop listened intently as Bill descibed his trip out to the farm. With a simotanious awe from the group, Bill finished his story with, "I still don't know who the boy was, but my inner voice keeps telling me that we will see him again. There is something special about that boy, I just don't know what it is. But I'm sure we we will see him soon."

Afterwords, the group slowly departed in their own directions while Bill sat there with MD and Amy. Bill listened intently as Amy downloaded all of her activities and the situation with Sam and the GF airforce. Amy also mentioned that the last time she had heard from Sam, he was in flight taking some injured friends to the medical center. "Bill, you may need to fly out to Oklahoma to give Sam some help. Afterall we need to provide our services to our new friends if they need it."
"Ok, just let me know when and where and we will make it happen."
MD chimed in to let Bill know about the device that Austin was in the process of creating to buy us a little time with the air deliverys while we can still do this.

Bud and Sam carried Kerri into the medical center and were immediately met by two doctors and several nurses. They took him to the operating room and were asked to leave so the doctor could take care of Kerri. Bud took Jason to an examining room and explained to the nurse he was not leaving Jason alone. The nurse looked at Bud, "Ok, you can stay, but stay out of my way. His wound doesn't look too badly and we will have him fixed in no time at all."

Shannon sat with Sam tears streaming down her cheeks, "He is hurt badly, Sam. It is in God's hands if he lives or dies, but I am praying hard that God will let him live. We have a baby coming and Kerri is so excited....I can't imagine him not being with me.....I just can't."
Sam put his arm around her, "He is in good hands. He was conscious long enough to let you know he heard your prayers and I just know God will give him more time with you. We have to keep praying."
"Heavenly Father, we are so unworthy, but if it is Your will, please let Kerri live. Father, we humbly request guidance and strength to endure this stressful time. Please keep Shannon strong in her faith and rely on Your wisdom in all matters. Our faith is tested in times like these, but we know Your plan is perfect and You are in control. Thank you for allowing us the means to get Kerri to the doctors. We ask that You guide the doctor's hands and give Kerri the care he needs. Our trust is in You. Amen."
Shannon put her head on Sam's shoulder and wept. "Thank you, Sam for coming when we needed you."

The nurse finished bandaging Jason's arm and turned to Bud, "You need to keep the dressing clean and I will give him antibiotics that he must take for ten days. Make sure he doesn't use his arm for heavy work for at least a week."
Bud nodded his head in agreement and thanked the nurse. He helped Jason to his feet and guided him into the waiting room.
Shannon looked up to see Bud approaching with Jason and she flew at him, "I know we are not to hate, but right now I don't want to ever lay eyes on you again. If Kerri dies....."
Sam pulled her down into the chair and held her tightly as she cried. "Shannon, Kerri will be ok. You must keep your faith strong. Let it go and try to forgive Jason."
She quietly answered, "I will try, but it won't be easy."

Bud took Jason and they found a seat across the room from where Sam and Shannon were sitting. Jason still had a blank stare and seemed removed from all that was happening around him. Bud began to pray, "Lord, I know You have a plan for this young man, but I wish You would hurry up and reveal it. We prayed for the demons to leave him and now they have returned. You have power over all and we have the faith You will drive them out forever. Thank you for the doctors and nurses that are treating Kerri. Please guide their hands. Lord, I know we are unworthy to ask, but could You forgive Jason and show him the way?"

The four sat quietly watching the clock and praying for Kerri. They knew it was in God's hands now and all they could do was wait and pray.

Hank had his number 2 or XO meet the three men on the main deck. From there they went up to the Officer’s wardroom. Hank finished talking with the pilot and headed for the wardroom.
Jack and the others were still shaken up a bit from the ordeal under the water. How they lived they couldn’t figure it out. They were talking about it when Hank arrived. After introductions they sat down and Jack told Hank all that had happen.
When he started talking about Captain Daniel, Joe and Ben started to choke up. That is when Jack realized that the sub crew had not a chance to say their good byes to their Captain. Jack made a metal note that before anyone leaves the sub they would due some sort of ceremony.
Hank told his guest about the P3 and said it would stay in the area for a half hour before moving on. He then talked about the chain of islands called Paw Benny. He had not recognized the name and was having his navigator check the charts.
“Pilot says that a force of ships and aircraft were planning to meet up to possibly form some type of understanding. What is the damage to you sub”
“We are checking now but for starters we lost our prop and major damage to rudder. We are DIW unless you have an extra one in your supply locker.” Joe stated
“Nope sorry, how about we ask the P3, they might know of a friend port or maybe a sub tender sailing in the area.” Hank replied
“Good thought. Joe can the sub still sink and surface as normal?” Jack asked

“Yes but without headway, our dive and surface time is reduced greatly, we need water flowing over the dive planes. If not we just use ballast.” Joe answered
“Hank how about towing the sub, if any contacts appear we cut lose let the sub sink for protection and we fight while leading whoever away from the sub.”
“That is a possibility; we would want to break tow on our end to keep the line away from our screws.”
“Agreed, what are your thoughts Joe? I think if we could get this boat fixed it could be a very reliable assent to our mission.”
Ben had been setting there listening and had to ask, “What is our mission?”
Each man looked at the group and pondered that very important question.
“Survival I guess” Hank said
“Survive until the powers that be figure out who is running the show and see what countries hold out and who falls inline with this new world government.” Jack answered
“I know who is in change and I know the outcome. We are playing a game that we as humans will not win as a group. Only on an individual level will we win.” Ben stated looking into each mans eyes.
Hank was puzzled, Jack knew where Ben was going with this but his military background wouldn’t let him give up.
“Son, if you know what is going on please spill the beans, I have read reports, I have heard the news and listened to the scuttlebutt and still I have not a clue.” Hank asked
“Sir, how many men did you lose the first day all this happened? You know what day I am talking about.”
“I lost 23% of my crew. I lost mostly enlisted men but some officers and one or two chiefs. We had been on convoy escort off of Africa that day. One minute all is fine, the next we are sounding the man-over-board alarm. Come to find out we lost a lot. Some who remained said in their written statements that they were standing in front of the person talking to them and bam they were gone. Once we found some many missing we went to GQ and sent message traffic to anyone who would listen. We got back a message that it happened all over the world and to stand by. Next thing we know, we are told to lower the stars and strips and hoist a new flag. Screw that, this ship is a US Man of War. We entered a few ports refueled and supplied but soon found everyone saying no to US and Up with this Global Family crap.”
“Sir, out of the 23% how many did you know personally to speak of God.”
“Ahh, you’re on the side of the religion story. Good story but don’t buy it. A lot of my crew who were left behind said they were Christians as well. As a matter of fact I grew up in the Catholic Church, can’t get no more religion that the Pope besides you all are Jews so why you buying into this.”
“Hank, Ben here as well as the whole Israel crew on board turn from the Jewish faith and now are now believers in Jesus Christ.”
“Ya so, look, I spent 18 years learning all about the church and the ways to get to Heaven, I was Baptized when I was 6 weeks old. I learned all the teachings the nuns put out so if anyone earned his way into Heaven that is me.” Hank said getting a little under the collar
“Sorry sir, but you can’t earn you way into Heaven; it was and is a gift. A gift that only God could give through his son Jesus.” Ben replied calmly.
“Enough of this talk, what is our plan?”

McAlester, Oklahoma

Leon pulled up to the guard shack at the Global Family Rehabilitation Senter #3166. Up until a few weeks ago it had been the Oklahoma State Pen. He saw through the layers of chain link fence, men, prisoners, marching two by two. Leon frowned. He had noticed something different during the last couple of days while driving around aimlessly. Everywhere, in each town he went through, it was the same thing. Men and women, marching, almost as if they were in military training. The police were all in Global Family uniforms, and in the school yards he had passed by, students also wore uniforms. Leon had almost wrecked his car when he drove past a school to see students outside shooting targets. On loudspeakers he could hear speeches made by Pontentate Argryos playing over and over. Leon had sat parked on the side of the road for hours watching as teenagers marched back and forth, ran obstical courses, and shot at targets. Finally a police officer had knocked on his car window and questioned him. Leon had become nervous, and somehow answered the questions to the officers satisfaction. He was told to move along, and without hesitation Leon had started his car and driven away.
There was a tap on his window and Leon jumped. He turned and looked and saw a guard looking at him suspiciously. Leon quickly rolled down his window.
"Um, hello. I'm here to visit a friend of mine." Leon stuttered.
"Rehabilitant's name?" the guard asked.
"Louis. Louis Melton." Leon stammered to the guard.
The guard went inside the shack. Leon jumped again when he heard gunfire. He looked at the guard, and was surprised to see him sitting at a computer. The other guard in the shack continued reading his newspaper. The gunrfire continued for several minutes, and Leon craned his neck to see where it was coming from.
Leon jumped yet again when the guard's voice sounded.
"I'm sorry sir. Your friend is dead." the guard informed him.
"What? How, when?"
"He committed suicide, hung himself in his cell. The incident occured two months ago. What was your business with him?"
Leon sat back in his seat. Louis had killed himself? "Are you sure?" he asked the guard.
"Yes. Now what was your business with him?" the guard asked again. Leon noted that the guard had move his hand to rest on the butt of his gun.
"I just came to see him. I hadn't seen him since he was sent up, and was in the area and decided to visit." Leon answered the guard. Leon saw that his answer hadn't caused the guard to move his hand away from his gun.
"Where did you say you were from?" the guard asked.
Leon began to panic. There was more gunfire, and Leon jerked his head around in the direction it was coming from.
The phone in the guard shack began to ring. Leon's head swung around in the direction of the ringing phone and he saw the other guard toss his paper and answer it. The conversation lasted only seconds. Slamming the phone down he yelled, "We have an emergency on the shooting range."
The guard that had been questioning him slapped his hand on top of Leon's car. "Sir, you need to leave immediately."
Leon put his car in reverse and backed away from the guard shack. He saw the two guards jump into a jeep and peel away in a cloud of exaust.
Leon turned his car around and began to drive away. He could hear more gunfire, and as he went around a curve could see into the prison yard. There were prisoners, in Global Family prison uniforms shooting at targets.

Trevor hung up the phone. Travis seemed to be rebounding. He looked over at Kristen where she sat next to Skunk's bed. He gave her a thumbs up. He knew she had been concerned for the man, and when he saw her smile, he smiled himself. Trevor walked over to the bed and looked at Skunk propped against the pillows.
"How you feeling?"
"Like I've been shot." Skunk answered with a small grin.
When Trevor had arrived he had expected the worst, but the surgery had been simple. He had removed the bullet with no problem, and it turned out that Raul and another member of the gang had been the same blood type. With a couple of weeks rest Skunk would be as good as new.
"Harm har, har." Kristen said giving Skunk a pat on the arm. "You're so funny." She rolled her eyes at him, causing Skunk to laugh.
"Are you making fun of me. I'm an injured man." Skunk pouted.
Kristen rolled her eyes again, and stood up. "I'm going to see if Lorna and Devon need any help in the kitchen."
"Bring me back a sammich." Skunk hollered at her retreating back.
"Liver and onion sammich comming up." Kristen shouted back.
At the mention of liver, Skunk began to gag. He hated liver, and had made the mistake of telling Kristen. "Blech. Your a mean woman Kristen, a very mean woman." He shouted determined to have the last word.
Not hearing a response Skunk smiled at Trevor. "Hah. I finally got the last word in."
Trevor laughed. Skunk and Kristen had been going back and forth every since Skunk had woken up after the surgery.
"She's a good kid." Skunk told Trevor.
"Yeah, she is." Trevor said softly.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure?" Trevor answered.
"What happened to her?" Skunk asked. "I can see the scars. Her life must have been pretty tough."
"Yeah it was. I don't feel comfortable telling you. It's Kristen's testimony. I'm sure she'll tell you if you ask." Trevor answered.
"I wasn't sure if I should, ya know. There's something in her eyes. Like a knowlege there. Knowlege that she's too young to have."
Trevor nodded.
Tori poked her head into the room. "How you feeling?"
"Good." Skunk answered.
Tori nodded. "Kristen told me to tell you that she was going to put sardines on your liver and onion sammich."
Skunk started gagging again, Tori grinned and ducked back out of the room, and Trevor burst out laughing. "Looks like you didn't get the last word after all."
"She's a mean woman, Trevor." Skunk whispered between gags. "A mean woman."

Sam was trying his best to comfort Shannon and he finally saw one doctor and nurse walking toward them. The doctor had his hung down and was shaking his head and Shannon seeing his expression began to cry. The doctor approached her and put his hand on her shoulder, "Dear, I don't understand what took place in the operating room, but when we opened him up, there was no damage. It looks as though the bullet never even pierced the skin, yet he had blood all over his body. You are sure he was hit in the chest by a bullet?"
"Yes, I saw the wound and he was bleeding profusely. He only regained consciousness once and the rest of the time he has been out and we couldn't find a pulse at one time. Yes, he was definitely struck by a bullet," Shannon answered.
"I will tell you whatever happened, he is just fine and can leave as soon as he awakens," the doctor said.
"We know what happened, the Lord healed him. We prayed for him and God answered our prayers. That's what happened, doctor. Whether you believe or not, God performed a miracle today," Sam said.
"I've seen things similar to this in my career, but nothing quite as dramatic. We get numb to things, but I have seen miracles. I guess we've all witnessed another one. I knew when everyone disappeared that my parents were right and although I'm a skeptic, maybe there's truth in it after all," replied the doctor. He shook Sam's hand and gave Shannon a hug and told her she could sit with Kerri until he awoke. "Well, we have other patients to see so you all have a safe trip home, good day."
The nurse took Shannon back to see Kerri and Sam left to call everyone about the good news. Bud looked at Jason, "Guess the good Lord saved your scrawny little neck this time."
Jason could only stare down at the floor and think about what had happened. "Maybe they have been telling the truth or else Kerri would have died. The bullet hit him in the chest and there's no way he could survive, yet he lives. Jesus died on the cross and yet He lives. Lord, forgive me for all the evil I have done. Please keep the voices from coming back. I know my friends asked that the demons leave me, but I guess You were waiting for me to ask. I'm through with them and I will spend the rest of my days living for You. I accept You as my savior and want to be a part of Your Kingdom. They were telling the truth. I know the truth......Lord, please forgive me."

" Ok Lord, I thank you for your wisdom and thank you for giving me the skill and ability to assemble this device for the pilots. It's in your hands Lord, I thank you in Jesus name, Amen." Prayed Austin.

Rubbing his eyes and getting back his feet, Austin grabbed the intercom and paged MD, Doug, and Bill to the Electrical lab. The E-lab was just a small office area in the shop that Austin had converted over for his special projects. The e-lab was equiped with computers, software and a small work bench so that Austin could turn his creativity into reality.

One by one the guys entered the e-lab. With a yawn, Austin announced to the guys that he has completed the reverse GPS / Radar device that MD had asked for a few days ago. "Let me explain how this thing works. First of all I have installed a disable switch so that when the pilots are in the air, everything will appear to be normal. But once one of the pilots recieve a radio signal or a blip on the radar indicating other air craft. The pilots will need to determine if the incoming aircraft is friendly or not. If the pilot determines that the opposing craft is GF airforce, then they will flip the engage toggle switch. Once the the device has been engaged, then the radar signal given off by our pilots will bounce off the nearest satelite and project the radar image up to 150 miles away from our pilots location. I couldnt come up with anything that would give a stealth appearance so the best we could do is make it appear that we are in a different location then what we really are. Once the GF airforce starts to persue the radar illusion, this will give our pilots time to adjust their course, or make a landing. It is important that we dont over use this device. Thats why I installed the disable feature. IF we use this too often, Im afraid that the GF will catch on to our tricks and find a way to track us. For now we need to fly our missions by the rules. I have already spoken to Amy about setting up flights that are legitimate transports and we will mix our delieverys in with the rest of the cargo. So at least for now we can look like we are making approved GF deliveries. But once things start to turn south on us, and they will. We have our reverse GPS / Radar device to keep us out of trouble when needed. I will keep working on ways to develop this technology, but it won't be easy, so use this thing as sparingly as possible so that we dont draw any undue attention. The unit runs off a 12volt battery, so installation will be a breeze. And if necessary the unit can be dumped out the window by the pilot so that he won't get caught with it. Once again, I stress to you to use this device only when you absolutly have too. You may only get a few uses from it until they catch on to the fact that they are chasing a ghost when the device is active."

The guys all give Austin an applouse for his inginuity. MD makes a note on his notepad to have Amy send Sam some instructions on this, while Bill and Austin grab the 14 ounce device with the battery and head to the plane for installation.

While the men were discussing their options and making a plan of action, Hank had his CIC contact the P3 and get better bearings on the island chain. Without having a basic knowledge of the area it might be in, they could stream around for days, months and years never finding the Paw Penny Islands.
“Sir, Combat here, the P3 responded with a new name. “Paso Drake”
Looking at each other, Hank acknowledged the report and had his navigation department look for the new name.
“While we await some good news, let’s talk about the repairs you need and if it is feasible to accomplish.” Commander Hank Beebe said
For an hour they talked and planned but when all was said and done it was decided that the Samuel of Ramah would be sunk after the crew destroyed any weapons that could be salvaged. The big concern was the remaining 4 Popeye’s missiles. They would have to open the tubes prior to sinking which was not the issues, the concern was would they survive underwater for years or would the pressure destroy them like it will the sub haul once it reached a certain depth.
“That is a chance we will have to take, besides, I don’t plan being around for much longer” Ben said
“Son, we still have to plan for a long term event, we can’t think short term.” Hank replied
“Sir, I agree with Ben here, I don’t understand it and I hope that if I get a few minutes I will set down with Ben to discuss what the bible says with him, but everything points to what he says, we are short term here.” Joe added
“Well anyway, Joe how long to have sub ready to sink?” Jack asked sucking on his cigar
Joe thought for a minute then replied around 5 hours for a complete job, 2 hours if they just cleared the sub of personnel and some equipment.
Jack looked at his watch, “The time is 14:20. We will inform the crew at 15:00 and start offloading unessential personnel at 15:15. One duffle bag per man anything else goes to the bottom. We plan for a five hour operation but we work at a two hour operation speed. At 18:00, we will evaluate where we stand. First thing we get everyone off that doesn’t have to be there. If we get company coming and the need to sink it faster then planned, I don’t want anyone hurt or risk of death because we screwed up.”
Each man nodded his head in agreement.
“I am senior man here and I will take overall command of our unified command. Hank you’re still the skipper and that is the way it will go, but don’t close your mind to the vast amount of information you have here with this sub crew. They are top notch and I would stay with them on the sub if that was possible. Once we find out where this Paso Drake is, that will be our goal. Are there any questions?”
No one said a thing as each one knew that in times like these you needed one person to stand up, take change and lead.
“Right now, Joe and Ben, I want you back on the sub and get everyone on the main deck. Secure what you need to but I want every sailor on deck in 15 minutes.”
“Yes sir” they both said before standing and heading for the door.
After they left Jack looked at Hank and asked for a light. “Sir the Navy secured the smoking lamp ten years ago.”
“We are the Navy and right now I am in command. So the smoking lamp is lighted.”
“Yes sir.”

“Who is your Chaplain?” Jack asked
“Petty Officer Gomer is now, why you believe all that stuff?”
“Like I said Hank, don’t fail to listen to others around you even when it sound strange.”
“Well unless God himself shows up, I’ll wait till the movie comes out.”
“That is your choice but don’t let me hear you bad mouth the sub crew for what they believe, they have some hard facts something you might want to read yourself.”
“Yes sir, when I get time. For now I’m heading to the bridge to find out where in blue blases is Paso Drake or Paw Penny Islands”
“OK, keep me up to date” Jack replied following Hank out of the wardroom. Hank turned left towards the bridge while Jack stepped out on the second level weather deck. Looking around he saw what he was looking for. Three young sailors were stand together on the fantail. Jack worked his way down to the small flight deck and headed back to the area the men were at.
One of the young sailors saw the Captain coming towards them. “Attention on Deck” He announced. All three men stood at attention then saluted Jack as he walked up.
“At ease men, which one of you has the lighter?”
“Lighter sir, we are not authorized to smoke on a Naval Vessel.” The tallest one said.
“Son, I am the navy and I just lit the lamp, now who has the lighter?”
“Alright” they all shouted as each one scrambled to produce a match.
“Here you go sir” the youngest one said producing a Zippo lighter with the Navy seal on it.
“Sir, is it true that we are at war with our own country?”
Jack lit his cigar and pulled a few strong puffs off it before answering. “Son, I don’t think anyone really knows what is going on but see that flag up there on the mast? That is the flag that we fly and last time I looked it was the United States of American flag.”
“Yes sir, but what about the rumors of the US turning everything over to the UN?”
“Again I don’t know but as long as we fly this flag and believe in God and Country then I guess we are on the right side.” Jack replied filling his lungs again. He liked talking to the junior men, they didn’t understand PC.
“Sir, I got word that my whole family is gone, any idea where or who took everyone?”
Jack lowered his cigar and looked at the young man standing in front of him. He was no older then 19 at the most. “We all lost family and friends. I am not one hundred percent sure but I think them boys over there on the sub might have a clue.”
“Really sir, is there a way we can talk to them?” The hope of learning some answers lifted the voices of all three sailors.
Jack tossed his cigar into the sea. “Soon they will be onboard, when you hear them, listen to them and hear all the facts. Don’t jump and refuse to believe what could very well be the truth. Understand men?”
“Yes sir, thank you sir”
Jack walked back to where the small whale boat was tied up. It was time he returned back to the sub and help the men start the healing process of losing their Captain. “Get Petty Officer Gomer down here asap.” Jack said to a junior officer who was standing on the quarterdeck.
“Aye sir”

Shannon sat beside Kerri holding his hand and giving all the glory and praise to God for saving his life. "Kerri, when you wake up we have a lot of thanking to do. First, I thank God for saving your life and giving us the chance to be together when our child is born. I want to praise God and give Him all the glory for giving us everything we have on earth. We would be nothing without God and His Son. Thank you God for sending Your Son into this world to show us the truth. Jesus, thank You for giving Your life so that we might live and be in Your presence for all eternity. We want to thank you for Sam and his plane. Lord, I forgive Jason as I know You have already given him forgiveness. Thank you, Lord for Your saving grace."
Kerri opened his eyes to see his beautiful wife's head bent in prayer and he said a prayer himself of thanksgiving. They would be together to see their child and they would be together for all eternity. He had seen a small sample of the life that was to come and God had returned him to earth to take care of his family. There was more still to do for the kingdom.

Sam hung up the phone and walked back to where Bud and Jason sat. "Everyone is so excited about Kerri. Christina said they had no doubt that God would save Kerri. They had been praying non-stop since we left. Tom was wondering about Jason and I told him his wound was superficial. Jason, you were given another chance. You know in your heart that Bud could have dropped you where you stood, but he has faith that you can change."
Jason looked up and stared into Sam's eyes, "I know I did some very bad things and listened to Satan when I should have listened to Jesus, but I asked Him to be my savior and to save me. I'm so sorry for everything. I'm sorry I pretended to accept Jesus and shot Kerri. I knew when Kerri didn't die that what everyone was saying was true. I will do everything to live my life for Jesus from now on. Whatever He asks of me, I will do. I have a new Master and it isn't the evil one."
Bud slapped him on the back forgetting about his wound and Jason let out a cry of pain. "I'm sorry, Jason. I was so excited you finally realized the truth and turned your life over to the Lord. Now you made the right choice."
"Bud, I need to check in with MD and Amy to let them know the crisis is over and see if they have need of me. I'll be back in a minute," Sam said.

He walked outside to use his cell phone and Amy picked up on the first ring. She had told him they had prayed for Sam and his friends that God would spare Kerri's life. She had been in touch with Alexis and she told her what had happened to Kerri. She informed him of the device Austin had invented and she would be emailing instructions. She said to take a couple of days to be with his friends and they would get in touch soon for his next assignment. Sam thanked her for the extra time and to tell Austin great job. Sam said good-bye and went back inside to see Kerri and Shannon had joined Bud and Jason. They were ready to head home.

Kristen took Miguel's hand as he helped her down off the hood of the car. She had just given her testimony and when she had started only a few people had been listening. By the time she had finished there were at least one hundred people standing on the sidewalk, and around the car. At first the prostitutes whom she had begun speaking to had told her to shut up and one had even gone so far as to throw a wadded up newspaper at her. Kristen refuse to keep silent, her heart bursting with the words the Lord had put on it. Kristen felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see the prostitute who had thrown the paper at her. Her eyes were filled with tears.
"I'm so sorry." she sobbed.
Kristen wrapped her arms around the woman and said, "It's ok. I forgive you."
"I want what you have. I want to be forgiven." the prostitue sobbed.
"You can be. All you have to do is ask Him. Confess that you are a sinner. Confess that Jesus in the Way the Truth and the Life. Tell Him that you want Him to come into you heart and make you a new creation."
The prostitue shook her head. "It can't be that easy."
"It is. Just tell Him that you believe that He came to earth and died for your sins, and that you believe that He rose from the grave three days later." Kristen stepped back and cradled the prostitutes face in her hands. "Do you believe?"
The prostitute looked into the young girls eyes and saw the truth. "Yes, yes I believe. Please Jesus forgive me. I've sinned against You. Please come into my heart." her words became incoherant as she began to sob. She fell to her knees with tears flowing freely down her face. "Thank You Jesus, thank You.", she shouted over and over. She could feel the Lord in her heart. There was no way to describe the feeling. She grabbed Kristen's hand. "He's here. I can feel Him."
Miguel looked at Mo and Tori, tears rolling down his face. He looked around the crowd and saw many others were on their knees, some even had their faces pressed to the sidewalk. He could hear the praises being sent up to heaven as he realized that there wasn't anyone left standing up. Every single person in the crowd was asking Jesus into their hearts.
"Praise You Jesus!! All honor and glory are Your's my Lord and Savior." Miguel said.
"Amen and Amen!!" Mo ans Tori shouted to the heavens.

On the Ranch

Zoe gave Matt a quick shove. "Go on, it's your turn."
Matt looked at his mother. "Mom, please."
"Matt, do as Zoe said." Maddie frowned at her son.
Matt dropped his head and picked up the tray. Feet dragging with dread, he carried it to Travis' room. Opening the door, he carefully made his way into the room. He glanced at the bed and saw that Travis was glaring at him. "It's about time, I'm starving to death."
Matt bit the inside of his cheek to keep from saying anything to the injured man and set the tray across his lap. Grumpy had followed Matt into the room and stood at the end of the bed. He sat on his haunches and bared his teeth at Travis.
"Oh shut up." Travis yelled at the dog.
Grumpy let out a growl.
Matt turned on his heal and left slapping his leg to get Grumpy to follow him.
He heard Travis grumbling as he shut the door. "Stupid Bible thumping, fundie, nutjobs."
Matt walked back into the kitchen. "He's says 'Thank you so much for the care you're giving me, and you're a wonderful cook.'" he said sarcastically.
"Now Matt, the Lord tells us to pray for our enemies. He also tells us that if they strike us, to offer them our other cheek to strike as well."
"I'd like to do some striking." Matt mumbled.
Nathan nodded.
Zoe heaved a sigh. It would be her turn to check on the hateful man next. She thought about offering Matt or Nathan money to do it for her. Looking at Nathan and Matt's expressions she knew there wasn't enough money in the world. For some reason Travis only snarled at her, Matt and Nathan. He was always polite to Maddie and Shade. She knew why he was nice to Shade. Well not nice, he was just too terrified of the big man to get a word out.
Zoe grinned at the memory of Travis meeting Shade. The man had actually wet his bed. Maddie had noticed and quickly bustled about gathering up clean sheets, and asking Shade and Matt to move Travis carefully so she could change the sheets. After the sheets had been changed Maddie had insisted that Matt loan the man some of his sweats. Once Shade and Matt helped him change and back in bed, Maddie and Shade had left the room leaving Zoe and Matt with him. He had immediately started in on them, and he had been hateful and rude every since. Maybe, Zoe thought, she could get Shade to go with her when she checked his bandages. She sighed as she looked at the clock. Three hours until she needed to check on him. "Lord help me be patient with the man. Please." she prayed.

“Men of the Israel submarine Samuel of Ramah and to the crew of the USS Gettysburg. We have been attacked and yet we still stand.” Jack stated as he stood in front of both crews. The men shouted and raised their arms.
“As you all know by now, we will be transferring all personnel and some equipment to the USS Ross. Once this is done we will scuttle the sub to the underwater graveyard we call Davy Jones Locker. But before we do I want to take a few minutes and give the crew of the Samuel the time to reflect and say their good byes to a man who by my account was the best sub skipper under the water.”
Again the men shouted as loud as they could.
“As most of you knew, I lost a bet with Captain Dan a few years ago and it cost me a lot of money but the rewards of having a sub skipper on our side plus a friend has been priceless. Dan knew each one of you. He knew your strength and your weakness, he formed his crew around each high and low point and for all that he had the best crew a Captain could ever hope for.”
Jack continued before the shouted started again.
“What is going on with this world, with the leaders and the people I can’t say for sure? It seems as if Dan and the rest of the crew that stayed on board had some good intel and based on these intel and what else has been happening I would have to say you 100% right. “Jesus, Jesus…” most of the crew started shouted now.
Jack held off a minute before signaling to calm down.

“For those of you who has been under my command on board the Gettysburg we came over to this sub not knowing or understand what all had happen. At this time, I highly encourage each Gettysburg member and anyone else who wants to learn more to attend an After the Fact lecture that I will have the Weapons Officer and the USS Ross Chaplain head up. This lesson I hope will give you better answers then what I or anyone else can give.”
Jack looked over at Ben and nodded.
“Before I close and turn this over to Mr. Akeman, I want to thank each one of you for allowing these events to bring us closer together and I look forward to talking with each one of you in the near future. Thank you.”
Again the men clapped and cheered. Jack stepped back, turned and fell in formation with the other Officers.
It was now Joe’s turn to talk to the crew. Since the moment Daniel had been killed, he and the crew had not really had the time to morn their lost. Being now in charge of the Samuel, Joe had his mind full and had it not been for Jack telling him to hold this gathering he might have passed it over.
What was he going to say he thought to himself? Looking out over the crew, sure he had seen and talked with each one but to stand in front like this and talk like he was the Skipper, Joe had a hard time with it in his mind.
When Jack told him to do this, at first he baulk at the thought but Jack said it was not a request but an order. So he prayed.

“Men three months ago, who would have thought that today we would be standing here on deck without our Captain. Captain…” the tears started to flow and the feelings for the loss of not only Joe’s Captain but his friend came rushing to the top. At first he tried to hold them back but as he looked out over the crew and saw the same tears flowing from the crew, there was no way to stop the flood.
Joe backed away and looked over at Jack. Jack too had tears but he also had a smile. At first Joe didn’t understand how Jack could be smiling but then he heard a voice. A soft sweet voice that told Joe it was OK. Daniel was now in the arms of the Lord.
“Oh sweet Jesus, thank you, thank you for your love and thank you for forgiving us who have been blind to you all these years.” The tears fell faster and soon Joe felt himself fall on his knees.
After what seemed like an hour, Joe looked up and saw that everyone had been down on their knees. Wiping his eyes, Joe stood up and waited a few more minutes then began to speak again.
“Daniel Aviv, was a true friend not only to his crew but to his country as well. When the order came for us to launch our missiles, he wanted so much for it to be a false alarm but he was ready as we all were to do what our country wanted from us. Having spent five years with Captain Avia, I learned that he came close to death many of times but each time God himself protected Daniel so he could use him later. I feel all of us need to thank Captain Avia for listening to God and following his wisdom. I like most of you don’t understand this new relationship with have, but I feel Captain Avia would be honored more if we seek Jesus more each day.
Shortly we will send Captain Daniel Avia ship, the Samuel of Ramah to the bottom of the sea where the shell of his body now lies. I thank Daniel and the Lord for giving me the training and opportunity to fill his position if only for a short time. Let us all remember that it is Jesus our Lord that matters and to him I say, let us lift our banner high”
Joe turned and looked at Jack once more while the men shouted and joined together shaking hands and hugging one other.

Missouri Ozarks

Kerri and Shannon were walking out of the hospital laughing and hugging each other when a nurse approached them, "Are you the guy that was shot and the doctor found nothing wrong with you or where a bullet even hit you? It's all over the hospital how they opened you up in the operating room and there was no damage. Do you really believe God saved you?
Kerri smiled at her, "Yes, I believe with all my heart that God saved me and continues to do so every day of my life. You see, I gave my life for Him to do as He wished so He decided that I was to live a little longer and that's why I'm walking out of the hospital healed. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and took on the burden of all mankind, He rose on the third day and lives today, and He lives in me."
The nurse looked at him in amazement, "You really believe there is a God? "
"Yes, I do. I see the evidence and you are looking at the evidence there is a God. How do you think anything exists? Look around you and know that something as intricate and beautiful as the world is, there's no way it could have happened in other way. There is a God and He sent His Son, Jesus, that we might all know Him. I pray you will get to know Him and His Son."
She thanked him and continued on down the hall turning several times to look back at the group as they left the hospital. She thought to herself, "I've seen so much death and yet, always witnessed a lot of miracles. God if you exist, I would like to know more about you. That young man is right, there must be a God."
Kerri hoped he had planted a seed in the nurse's heart that she would come to know Jesus as her personal savior. "Thank you, Jesus, for the opportunity to walk out of this hospital healed and for being able to witness to the power of the Heavenly Father. May the nurse be curious and want to know about Your saving grace and power. Lord, I give You all the praise and glory. Thank you for saving me." Kerri gave his wife a hug and smile, "Thank you for being there for me.....I love you."
"I'm here always, just as our Lord and Savior is always with us. I love you, too."
