Are They Ready For This?

Amarillo, Texas

Jose had been surprised yesterday when Shade had shown up with his whole household. He had expected Shade with a load of cattle, but his family had been a surprise. Shade had gotten out of the truck and walked back to the SUV that followed and once everyone had gotten out, he had introduced everyone to Jose. Jose, being shy, had nodded his head at each greeting, but when he had been introduced to young Kristen, something about the child had caught his attention.
He notice the scars on her arms and face, but it wasn't her appearance so much as something that radiated from within the girl. He had been stunned at his reaction to her.
After the cattle had been unloaded, Jose had walked back into his office and seen the family sitting in the small kitchen/eating area. Maddie had been kind enough to fix Jose and his men lunch. They had all sat down and after saying grace had eaten their fill. When Jose found out Trevor was a surgical nurse, he had shyly asked Trevor to look at a deep cut on his arm. Trevor had agreed, and next thing, each of Jose's men had something they wanted Trevor to look at. Maddie and Zoe were quickly recruited to assist. Matt and Nathan had went to hose out the trailer, leaving Jose sitting with Kristen, Tori and Shade.
Tori had told Jose about loosing her parents in a plane crash, seconds after the rapture. Jose's heart went out to the girl. It was obvious when he asked if the girls parents had been saved that they hadn't. Tori had broken down in tears, and her sobs came from deep within her. Jose's own eyes had filled at the knowlege that the poor girls parents were at that moment in hell. He gave silent thanks to God that his own family had come to the realization of the truth a few days after the rapture. He had not lost one member of his family from the chaos after, and daily thanked God for that.
Kristen had gathered Tori into her arms and comforted her. Compassion for Tori had broght tears to Kristen's eyes and both the girls had cried over the loss of her parents souls. Once Tori had gathered herself together all of Jose's men had had their injuries seen to by Trevor and had sat back down to enjoy a cup of coffe.
One of the men had shyly given his testimony, which in turn had led to everybody giving their own. Only two of the men who worked for Jose were still unsaved and admitted that they were still unsure about what was happening.
At their words Kristen had looked alarmed. Her eyes darted around the table and she saw the same alarm and sadness in the eyes of her brothers and sisters in Christ. Kristen was the only one who had not given her testimony, and feeling an urgency in her heart, she began to speak.

Ronald (Earl) Myers walked out the doors of the school, when someone grabbed him by the arm. He spun and jerked his arm away. He raised his fists ready to defend himself when he saw the Principal of the school looking at him as of he had lost his mind.
"Ronald! What is wrong with you?" he asked.
"Nothing." he answered lowering his fists. Ronald (Earl) felt foolish as he knelt down to pick up his briefcase.
"I called your name several times and it's like you didn't hear me. Are you sure you're ok?" The principal looked at him suspiciously.
"I'm fine. Just tired and missing my family, that's all." Ronald (Earl) answered. He turned and rushed to his car.
The principal stood staring at Ronald as he got in his car and drove out of the parking lot. There was something not right about him, the principal knew. Other teachers had noticed it too. They expected him to be a bit different after the disappearence of his family, but the change in Ronald was astonishing. He even looked different. Everyone knew that Ronald was fastidious about his appearance. He had always been clean shaven, hair slicked back, and his clothes ironed. He was a bit of a germaphobe as well. But the last few days, Ronald had shown up to school with a full beard, hair mused, clothes wrinkled, looking exhausted and reeking of alcohol.
He also had no problem with shaking peoples hands, giving students high fives, and other things that were out of the ordinary.
Several of the teachers had noted that he didn't seem to know his own name. They had to repeatedly call his name and nudge him when they wanted to get his attention.
Yes, the principal thought. Something was definitely off with Ronald Myers.

Christina was holding Sam close when she heard him murmur something. "Sam, Sam, can you hear me?" she cried. Bud bent down to feel his pulse and reared back with a broad smile on his face and said, "I don't think the bullet actually hit him. Does anyone see any blood?"
Sam opened his eyes to see everyone gathered around him. "What happened? My head hurts like someone hit me with a two by four. Christina, why are you crying?"
"Sam, Jason shot at you and we thought you were dead," she quietly answered.
"I must have been thrown off balance and hit my head on something because I'm still here," Sam said patting himself all over.
"Thank goodness he's not a good shot," said Bud. The rest of the group all nodded their heads in agreement. "Praise the Lord for He watches over all. Maybe your guardian angel made the shot go awry, but whatever, we are thankful to a Mighty God that keeps us in the safety of His care."
All fell to their knees while Bud lead them in prayer, "Thank you Jesus for keeping our good friend, Sam safe. We give You all the glory and praise for Your constant watch. We ask that You give Jason another chance and open his heart to Your goodness. Amen."

Captain Tim Barlow, skipper of the former US sub, USS George Washington now named the GF Teodor smiled as he read the last message. It seemed that more then a few US Naval vessels have decided to not follow the new law and government. It was his job now to hunt the runaways down to give them one more chance to change their minds before he would sink them.
He had a plan that the pirates from the past used. Another smile crossed his face as he thought of the promotions he would get. Now I will show the new leaders I am capable of commanding a task force. “Conn, full speed ahead,” Tim’s eyes twinkled as the full moon bounced of the ocean waves.

The angel smiled at Sam and laid his hand on his back. "Sam, the Lord has found favor with thee and you shall lead this group until He comes again to claim you for all eternity."
Sam felt the angels presence and silently answered, "Thank you for saving me twice."
He stood up with the help of Christina and Bud then looked at the group and said, "I love all of you and we will weather the storms that are to come through the guidance and grace of our Heavenly Father. Steven, we can hold Jason inside and not turn him over to the authorities. Jason, I forgive you for what you tried to do, but you must understand that God is a loving and forgiving God, but he will also pour out His wrath if you don't change your heart. The sentence will be separation from God for all eternity and you do not want to make that choice."
Steven looked squarely into Jason's eyes, "Should you choose to keep listening to those voices in your head that are evil, you will surely be judged to live in hell where Satan and all his minions will be sentenced forever. It's called the firey pit and you will suffer in ways you could never imagine. Turn your eyes inward and look at the evil that lives inside and just pray that Jesus will cast out all that evil. If you ask, He will answer. We will not stop praying for you, but we won't allow you to roam about as a free man until we are sure of your intentions. Do you understand?"
Jason gave him a blank stare and nodded that he understood. He whispered, "You are evil and I want you to go away from me." The voice answered, "You have not finished and we will not leave. The master has plans for you. Do not heed the lies."

Jack listened as each department head gave him a short briefing. Most of Daniels crew stayed so operations would be ok, he would have his men fill in where needed. Joe and Josh both seemed like very good men and Jack had no problem letting them run things for now. If and when things started to get hairy he would have to make the final calls.
They all agreed that they would need to dock up with another ship or even find a country that could help them. Jack had read some messages saying that other ships as well as air and ground units would not lower their colors for the new world government. Jack couldn’t see China giving in. Strange he thought, might be one day he pulls into a China port while commanding an Israel submarine.
“Captain” Ben asked
“Yes Gunner, I mean Weapon Officer”
“Gunners fine sir, just remember we shoot torpedoes and missiles not bullets and shells. Sir, where do you stand with the Rapture and bible? I figured all Americans were Christians.”
Jack was struck back by that, he was not excepting a religion question so soon. “Well, like I said many of my men did disappear. Why, I can’t say at this time but to answer your question, I shall ask you a question, Is every person in Israel a Jew? Meeting dismissed, let’s get some sleep. Op’s I want to go to GQ at 0600, let’s see where we stand if we need to fight.”
“Aye Captain. What happens if your old boat makes a run on us?”
Jack smiled, “It will be at least 12 hours tops before they could see us, before departing, and knowing we were going to a sub, I had one of my tec’s disable a few systems. They will figure it out but it will take them a few hours.”
“Guess we better get clear of the area” Joe nodded
“That would be wise, I am sure they will soon have orders to hunt us down and sink us.” Jack replied
The meeting broke up leaving Jack alone once again. Setting at the desk, he saw the half bible lying on a folder. “So Daniel, did you find God before you died?” Jack asked under his breath.

Amarillo, Texas

“I was four years old when I was kidnapped. Mikey, the man who kidnapped me was a pedophile.” Kristen began.
At her words Jose and his men all sat forward their mouths hanging open in shock. Jose looked at Shade. “Where is this man. He should be turned over to the authorities.” Jose’s men all nodded in agreement, some even mentioning their own brand of justice.
“The man’s dead.” Shade told them bluntly, then went on to explain what he thought had happened.
Jose and his men sat back nodding and gave Kristen their attention again.
“Up until the time Mikey kidnapped me I had a happy childhood. I still have a few memories of my parents. Those memories helped me through some very tough times. Mikey was a vile man who enjoyed hurting me, and he often invited his friends over to abuse me too.”
Again Jose and his men interrupted, wanting to know where these other men were. Shade explained about finding Antony’s body, and Louis being in prison. He told them about Earl and how he had left town, and they had no idea where he was. Then Trevor told them about finding Leon at Earl’s house and how he had been abused as well. Trevor assured the men that Leon had no idea that Kristen was with them, and he hadn’t been seen or heard from since he and Shade had left him at Earl’s house.
Jose and his men looked at Kristen and assured her that she was safe with Shade.
Kristen smiled at the men, and agreed that she was safe with Shade. The men seemed satisfied and sat back to listen to the rest of her testimony.
Kristen told them of the abuse she had endured at Mikey and his friends hands. She didn’t go into great detail, as each time she told of a particular incident, Jose and his men would interrupt with protests.
“The day of the rapture was like any other day. Mikey woke me up and he took me with him to work. As long as nobody was in the station he would let me out of my closet. He got onto his favorite child porn website and began looking around. After a couple of hours he notice no one had come in. He ordered me into my closet, and when he closed the door I attached the shackle to my ankle like I had been trained to.”
Jose and his men started to interrupt again, but at a shake of Shade’s head they went silent.
Kristen continued. “I don’t know how long I was in the closet, but when Mikey got back I heard him turn on the TV and then begin shouting. He shouted for several minutes and then I heard something hit the metal wall. Then he was quiet. I began to wonder what had happened. After a few minutes I thought he had left again so I went to sleep. I woke up when I heard someone at the closet door. When the door opened I saw Shade. I was terrified of him. I had never seen someone so big, and he looked furious. He unlocked the shackle on my ankle and I tried to run. I fell down and hit my head, and when I woke up, I was in a bed in a room I had never seen before. Grumpy was the first family member I met, and we quickly became friends. Then I met Maddie, and I was afraid of her and Grumpy knew it so he warned her off.”
Kristen then told the men the story about Grumpy and Shade. It made the men laugh and eased the tension.
“Matt came in to give me breakfast and started reading the Bible to me. Everybody took turns reading to me. I had never been treated like that before, and for the first time in my life, I wasn’t afraid of men. There was something about them all that made me feel safe.” Kristen stopped for a moment and smiled at Shade and Trevor. Matt and Nathan had come back in and she gave them both a smile as well.
“After several days the Gog/Magog war happened, and I was confused. If God told Ezekiel to write down the future, did He know what my life would be like? Did He know what would happen to me? I was angry. Especially when Trevor admitted to witnessing to Leon.”
“It was then that I began to have the dreams. Dreams about a Man being beaten, hung on a cross, buried in a tomb. Dreams about Lucifer and grotesque creatures that seemed to hate this Man.” Kristen told the men all the details from her dreams. The men were transfixed. “I didn’t know who this Man was, but I knew His blood spoke of love. A pure love. A love that was beyond my understanding.”
The two men who admitted to being unsaved were leaning forward in their chairs, their eyes fixed on Kristen, tears running down their cheeks.
Kristen told them when Maddie had read from the Bible about one of her dreams. “It was then that I realized this Man was Jesus. I didn’t understand why I would be dreaming about Him. I wasn’t a Christian. It made no sense to me. I told everybody about my dreams, and they said they didn’t know why I was having them either, but I think they did. You see in my dreams the creatures called Satan Lucifer. In all the time they read to me, they always called Satan by the name Satan. Not Lucifer. They all knew the dreams were from God.” Kristen smiled at her family.
Maddie reached across the table and squeezed Kristen’s hand. Kristen returned the squeeze and continued.
“Then I started having dreams about my life before I was kidnapped. Dreams about my dad praying when I was born, dreams about Jesus visiting me when I was playing in my sandbox. He always told me He loved me. Then I got angry. I don’t know why. Then I started thinking about killing myself.” Kristen rubbed the bandage on her wrist. “Trevor caught me, and bandaged me up. I went to sleep and had another dream. It was the day I was kidnapped. Jesus was there watching, and right at the moment my mom put me down, Mikey heard a preacher on TV talking about Jesus. He hesitated for a moment, then took me anyway. I dreamed of the abuse, and through all of it Jesus was there, tears running down His face. The whole time He was being beaten, and hung on the cross dying, He never shed a tear, but He cried for me. When I woke up, everybody was in my room sleeping. They had stayed the night in my room protecting me, and praying for me.
I got up and went outside and watched the sunrise. It was then that I asked Jesus to save me. And He did. The moment I asked Him, I felt His presence. It was the most awesome moment in my life.” Kristen finished her testimony.
The two men who were unsaved dropped to their knees and asked Jesus into their hearts. The other men began to sing praises to Jesus, and soon everyone had joined in their voices ascending into heaven to mingle with the shouts of joy of Jesus angels.

Missouri Ozarks

Shannon had slept during much of the trip back home while Tom and Kerri talked about their lives before the rapture. Tom turned off I-44 and headed toward Camdenton when he spotted a car on it's roof top in a ditch. He pulled the car over and he and Kerri jumped out to see if anyone was inside. Tom could see someone in the driver's seat and reached in to feel for a pulse, but couldn't find one. Kerri went to the other side of the car and found a young woman still strapped into her seatbelt and still breathing. He yelled at Tom, "I think this one is still alive." Tom ran around to that side of the car and he and Kerri pulled the young woman from the car. Her head had a huge gash, but otherwise they couldn't see any other injuries. Maybe she had passed out from shock. She opened her eyes to see the two men staring down at her and she said, "Where am I? What happened?
"You've been in an accident. Your friend didn't make it. Can you tell us where you were going and where you live? asked Tom.
"The last thing I remember is my friend, David, and I were driving to my parent's house in Camdenton. They disappeared several weeks ago and we were going to close up the house and get a few of my belongs out. David was going a little too fast, as usual, guess we didn't make the turn. My name is Alexis Graham."
"We can take you into town and let the authorities know about the accident and your friend," stated Tom.
Shannon had awakened to find the two men gone so she had gotten out of the car and yelled down to them, "Hey, everyone ok down there?"
Kerri responded, "One casualty and one alive. We will be right up."
Shannon greeted the young woman and helped her into the car. Tom gave her the first aide kit and Shannon began to treat Alexis' wound. Tom said, "We should be in Camdenton in about 30 minutes. I think our first stop should be the police station then we will take you to your home, Alexis."
"I'm grateful for the ride and all your help. It's been kinda crazy since all the disappearances. Almost everyone in my family disappeared or if it's safe to say, raptured."
"You are with believers so it is ok to say raptured, we won't think you've lost your mind," said Shannon with a smile on her face.
"Thank goodness. We talked to several that thought we had gone crazy and accused us of being against the government and putting out false statements. Our friends turned on us like we were lepers or something. I knew immediately what had happened because my parents were always talking about Jesus coming soon to take them home. I just figured they meant they were getting old and going to die soon.....boy, was I wrong." Alexis shook her head and continued, "I couldn't have been more wrong. David was a little cynical, too, but he was willing to take me to my parents home without giving me too much trouble."
"Well, you are in safe hands, I will assure you. Just relax and we will have you home in no time," Tom told her.

Teodor was dozing, exhausted from contemplating how he would get all of his plans into motion. He had also spent a large amount of time worshiping his master, great Lucifer, and despite feeling empowered and confident, the hours of prayer and worship left him tired out. Teodor jumped as the intercom beeped and Jerome's voice softly said "Excuse me Potentate, your mother is on the phone. She sounds worried."

Teodor rolled his eyes and walked over to his desk. "Put her on the line Jerome."

He could hear his mom's whiney, Greek voice. "Teodor? Oh Teodor honey, how are you doing?"

"Mother, be calm. I am doing wonderfully. My plans for world peace are coming along just fine and everything is under control."

"Its...its just that I haven't heard from you...especially since your cousin's...your-your cousin's--" she burst out into tears, unable to continue.

Again, Teodor rolled his eyes and shook his head; his mother was overly emotional. "It has been difficult for me mother, and I'm sorry I didn't call...it was difficult for me to deal with, and I just needed to mourn alone." It was partially true; his cousin's death had hurt, but not because he missed his cousin. It was the fact that someone was trying to get to him, trying to take away his power and make him collapse in grief.

Good thing Teodor didn't really feel grief.

He continued speaking in a voice laced with fake grief and heavyness. "I truly miss him mother, I think of him everyday. I just want my family to be safe."

"Well Teodor honey...I'm...I'm worried for my safety."

Teodor looked alarmed. "Why are you worried? Has someone threatened you? Are you in danger?"

"That's not it dear...I just think that whoever this, this killer is...he might try to attack someone closer to you, s-someone l-like...like m-me." She was crying in fear.

"Mother, mother calm down!" Teodor waited until her sobs quieted. "Mother, I am working on transporting you here, where you can be safe. I have set up a private suite for you to stay in until the threat has subsided. It will keep you close to me and there will be no chance of you facing any harm here." Teodor wasn't particularly happy about having his mother stay with him due to a lack of personal feelings for his mother, but his advisors told him it was imperative he didn't receive any more bad press about family deaths. Teodor had grudgingly agreed and built his mother the private quarters. He didn't have any other siblings and his father had died when he was young. His extended family still remained vulnerable, but Teodor figured if a shooter was trying to get to him, he would aim for a bigger target next time due to the lack of public response from Teodor after his cousin's death. His mother was the only major target.

"Oh really? Oh Teodor, thank you!" Now she was crying tears of joy and relief.

After that episode was over, Teodor continued. "I will send a private jet to pick you up from Greece today. It will arrive tonight around 10:00 pm Greek time. Please be ready at the airstrip." He gave her the location and told her a car was coming to pick her up at 9:45.

"I can't wait to see you my son; I love you." His mother said sincerely, emotion in her voice.

"I love you too mother." Teodor said, pretending to be sincere.

After hanging up, he thought about the shooter. There had been no activity from him ever since the first killing. Teodor knew better than to assume the shooter had given up hope of tackling his main target, but he was curious as to why the shooter had stalled his attacks. It was no matter; Teodor would make sure the shooter was killed before anything more could happen.

His phone buzzed again. "Sir, the rebel ships are not responding to your calls for them to become part of the Global Family Navy. What would you like to happen?"

Teodor's palm hit the table hard in frustration. Those rebel ships were causing him much more trouble than he anticipated. "Jerome...I want each of those ships to be cornered, asked once more to become part of my navy, and if they refuse...I want them destroyed."

Jerome's voice shook a little. "D-destroyed sir?"

"Yes Jerome! Is that a problem?"

"No, no Mr. Potentate. I will send out the order immediately."

Teodor nodded and Jerome hung up. Teodor liked Jerome, and he did his job well...but Teodor needed someone who could act as his second-in-command. Someone who would admire him and follow his orders, but also be a strong political personality.

Teodor had done some research, looking into the leaders of various countries worldwide. The President of the United States had seemed promising at first, but his cowardly response under any kind of pressure had placed him out of the running. Looking for diversity, Teodor had evaluated some leaders in the African Union, but their individual countries were so unstable and prone to violence that none of those leaders seemed capable of leaving their countries to be in such a high position.

Teodor flipped on the news on his 64-inch wall flatscreen tv. After watching for a few minutes, a special came on about the Prime Minister of England.

"Today Prime Minister Taylor reiterated his support of Potentate Teodor Argyros."
Taylor: "The Potentate is doing a supreme job turning this world around from its broken state, especially since the tragic Disappearances. Potentate Argyros has a vision for the world, one of world peace, harmony, and unity, and I admire him for his strength. He has us on a path to greatness and utopia, and I will always stand by him and provide any support I can from the great nation of England."
"The Prime Minister has followed and implemented all of the new regulations of the Global Family without qualm"

Teodor was nodding thoughtfully. Taylor may be just who I'm looking for.
