George Gant lay in his bed at the observatory in a fitfull sleep. The angel stood over him observing the movement of his eyes. As a scientist George had never been able to grasp why people believed in the literal truth of the bible. His whole life had revolved around the science of things. From evolution to the bible, the bible had made no sense to him with all the proof of evolution. The angel knew that the Father had chosen this man for his kingdom. This man had remained undefiled by women all his life. God had opened his eyes at an early age to the stars and planets in the heavens and he had spent his whole life in research. The angel had been sent to George to reveal the truth to him about what was coming upon the earth. The angel placed his hand upon Georges forehead to recieve the knowledge that he was asking for from Nasa. The movement under his eyelids moved quickly back and forth as the angel relayed the message. The angel speaking softly said, "When you awaken, write in your journal all that has been told to you." The angel then returned to where he had come from. George remained in his state of sleep until the rising sun danced over his eyelids. He sat up on the edge of his bed feeling compelled to write in his journal. His pen flowed across the page as he wrote, not understanding what was appearing on the page:
12And when He had opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake. And the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.
13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs when she is shaken by a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed like a scroll when it is rolled together. And every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains.
He paused briefly to read what he had written, this wasnt making sense. Why was he writing this? He continued writing:
In Revelation 8:
2 And I saw the seven angels who stood before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
5 And the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar, and cast it into the earth. And voices and thunderings and lightnings and an earthquake occurred.
6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mixed with blood, and they were cast on the earth. And the third part of trees was burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea. And the third part of the sea became blood.
9 And the third part of the creatures in the sea, those having souls, died; and the third part of the ships was destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and a great star burning like a lamp fell from the heaven, and it fell on the third part of the rivers and on the fountains of waters.
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood, and a third part of the waters became wormwood. And many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was stricken, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day did not appear for a third part of it, and the night also.
13 And I saw and I heard one angel flying in mid-heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, from the rest of the voices of the trumpet of the three angels being about to sound!
He knew this had come from the bible for he had researched it many times. But why would he be writing about bible prophecy when he didnt even believe in it? He put his journal down and dressed himself for the day. Entering the observatory he shut off the alarms he had set before going to bed. Logging onto the computer he hoped NASA had responded to his e-mail and the data he had forwarded to them for analysis.

Lisa has arrived at day 5 of her "mental hold evaluation".....her 96 hour checkpoint. Two facility staff members open her door and invite her to follow. Lisa's been kept in a very sedated state and find herself struggling to focus.....as she joins the two staff member's for a walk down the hall...she is startled to hear a voice..."Fear NOT! For I am with you" In an instant..her sedatives have been rendered useless....her eyes widen...her posture straightens and her thoughts more sure.....turning the corner of the hallway she is led by arm into an office..."Dr Trance's office"...
"Goodmorning Lisa, Please sit down" "In case you don't remember...I'm Dr Trance?" "Of course I remember Dr" Lisa replies "Well you've been with us five days and though I know it's not been of your choosing...I trust you have found your accomodations tolerable?" "Yes sir"
Dr Trance opens her file and takes a pen...making notes...then lays the pen down and pushes the file back and stares directly at Lisa in derision..."Well now that you have had time to settle in and time to do nothing but think....Let us waste no time" "I have read your file obviously and am very aware that your daughter is one of the millions who have been declared a casualty of the selective elimination" Dr Trance stands to His feet almost agitated by what he is about to ask "Now, upon your arrival here at New Thought Mental Health....you were checked in for ranting that Jesus had taken your daughter....your husband's signed you in on this concern and I have documentation from one Officer Lacey stating the affirmative" Leaning forward ..placing both palms on his desk and staring directly into Lisa's eyes..."surely you have been able to process things more clearly over these last few days.....so let me ask you now....what do you think has happened to your daughter?"

Sitting in front of his computer, he scanned through his e-mail. Still no response from NASA. He wondered what was taking them so long. If he could see it in the data he had collected, surely NASA could see it and confirm. He decided to collect the data from last night while he had slept. Maybe there was some change that would confirm it to him while he waited. With a click of his mouse the data began to down load. It would take a few minutes so while he waited he sat down at one of the research telescopes to check on any gamma ray burst that may have occurred.Gamma-ray radiation from a relatively nearby star explosion, hitting the Earth for only ten seconds, could deplete up to half of the atmosphere's protective ozone layer, the recovery for which would take at least five years. With the ozone layer damaged, ultraviolet radiation from the Sun would kill much of the life on land and near the surface of oceans and lakes. While this wouldn't directly affect all forms of life, the food chain would be affected dramatically. This, in turn, could lead to mass extinctions. While gamma-ray bursts in the Milky Way galaxy are indeed rare, NASA scientists estimate that at least one nearby event has probably hit the Earth in the past billion years. Life has existed on Earth for at least 3.5 billion years, therefore it is possible that such an event could have caused a mass extinction.
Rising from the observation booth he retrieved his journal so he could jot down a few notes. Opening to the last entry, he re-read what he had been compelled to write earlier that morning. As he read he walked over to the bookcase that held all his research books. Picking up the bible he sat down at his desk and opened to the passages he had written. Going through them line by line he could not figure out how he had been able to write all this by memory. His parents had believed everything the bible said, but they had been older parents when they had him and he had always felt they were very old fashioned in their beliefs. His father had read the bible to him for years but he thought he had just ignored them and continued his dreams of researching the galaxy for the truth. They had told him that God had blessed them with him for a very special purpose. He loved them both dearly but had never been able to relate to them. They had both died in a car accident when he was a freshman in college. They had left him with enough money to pay for his tuition and then some. He still lived in the house that they had left him and he had done very little to change the way they had left it. That had been 30 something years ago. He had taken off a month from school back then to take care of placing them in a beautiful cemetary not far from their home. He was a good son even to this day always visiting them once a month and extra when the holidays came around. The phone began to ring on his desk and he hurried to answer it. He had several phones in the observatory and he saw that it was the NASA phone line that was ringing.

Raven shifted uncomfortably in his chair. “So,” he asked the ten members of Aspic, who changed their name to Harpazo, “You knew Argyros would take power?” The members of Harpazo smiled, “Of course. It’s in Bible prophecy.” Raven rolled his eyes, “You actually believe in that mumbo-jumbo?” The leader of Harpazo picked up his Bible. “In Daniel, the main man for our…terrorist group, he prophesizes about empires that have the capacity to take over the world. But they don’t. Listen to his prophesy; “You looked, O king, and there before you stood a large statue—an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance. The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay. While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.”
He flipped through the Bible some more until he got to another part of Daniel, “Here it is: ‘After you, another kingdom will rise, inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth. Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others. Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.”’ Raven shrugged his shoulders. “How is that important? Is there an interpretation?” The leader smiled. “Of course. The first empire is the Babylonian empire, which is rising from the dust again. The second one is Medo-Persian. The next ones are the Greek and Roman Empires. Daniel also speaks of an abomination of desolation.”
He slammed the Bible shut. “The first abomination happened with Antiochus IV Epiphanes. He was known as Manifest, God or Illustrious. He ruled over the Seleucid Empire, from about 175 BC until his death in 164 BC. During his reign, Antiochus outlawed Judaism and ordered the worship of Zeus as the supreme god. Naturally, the Jew refused, and Antiochus sent out an army to enforce the decree. As a result, much of Jerusalem was destroyed and many were slaughtered. The second abomination happened in 70 A.D. The third abomination will happen in 3 ½ years, when Teodor will sit in the Third Temple and declare himself God. It’s all in the Bible.”
Raven looked confused, “You have enough proof. But, if you believe in the Bible, why don’t you become Christian?” The leader slammed his fist on the table, “We are the rebellion to God! We, in the end, will win. We just need to take over his world.” Raven rolled his eyes and picked up the Bible, flipping to Daniel. He would have to read it one day.

On the Ranch
She was standing in a room. It was filled with pews and there was a podium up front. Behind it was a large cross. There was a picture of Jesus on the wall to her right.
She turned her head when she heard the door open.
A man walked to the front and bypassed the podium and dropped to his knees in front of the cross. He had tears running down his face. He bowed his head and began to pray.
"Father, please. I know that with You nothing is impossible. You can save my wife and my baby, I know You can. Please Father, please save them."
The man continued to pray silently, his tears rolling down his face to fall off his chin.
He suddenly threw his head back. "If it's Your will that they stay with me, or that they go home to You, Father let Your will be done. Not mine Father. I leave them in Your hands." the man fell forward.
Kristen saw Jesus sitting on the floor in front of the man. The mans head seemed to be lying on Jesus chest. Jesus arms were wrapped tightly around the man.
Jesus was groaning as if in pain, tears coursed down His face.
Kristen was stunned. In her previous dreams, Jesus had never cried. Through the beatings, and hanging on the cross, not one tear had fallen, but He wept now. He wept for the man in his arms.
The man quieted, and lay in Jesus arms, and turned his face. Kristen saw his face clearly. She felt her heart jump.
The door was opened and a nurse stepped in to the room. "Mr. Holt?"
The man slowly turned and stood up. His face was lined with dread. "Yes."
The nurse smiled. "You're wife and daughter are fine. The baby turned at the last moment and somehow the cord unwrapped itself from around her neck. She's perfect."
The man began to sob again, but this time tears of joy. "And my wife?"
"She'd doing great. She wanted me to tell you that she likes with the name you picked out better."
The man began to laugh. He hugged the nurse, swinging her around in a circle. He put her down and opened the door.
"Mr. Holt?"
"Yes?" the man paused.
"What name are you going to give your daughter?"
"Kristen. Kristen Dawn Holt."

Shade and Matt had left early to take another load of cattle to Amarillo, and Zoe, Trevor and Nathan had headed over to Shade and Maddies old house to pack stuff up to take to the hideout.
"Why don't we just tell Kristen why she's having dreams?" Nathan asked.
"I think it's best to let the Lord lead and guide her at this point. There"s obviously something going on, and I for one would hate to interfere with the Lords plans for her." Zoe answered.
Trevor nodded. "The Lord is doing something special with her right now Nathan, and whatever it is, I know that eventually it will all make sense. With what she's been through, I can understand her confusion, but the Lord know's what's best. We just need to pray, trust Him, and keep reading the Word to her."
Nathan continued packing boxes in silence. "You know, I think that God has big plans for Kristen."
"How do you mean?" Trevor asked.
"Well, think about it. Kristen is having dreams of Jesus, back when He was here on earth. She's seeing His crucifixion, His ressurection. She's saw Him defeat sin death and hell. You heard her describe the things in her dreams. It's like she was actually there. Yup, God has big, big plans for her." Nathan finished.
Zoe smiled. "I think you're right Nathan. I think He has huge plans for her."

George sat gazing through the telescope. He had been disappointed with his phone call from NASA. They had called to inform him that his relief would not be coming. He would need to stay an extra month and NASA would be sending out his monthly food shipment which would arrive in the morning by Federal Express. His friend Tom, who was to relieve him had been one of millions who had disappeared during his month on duty. Tom had always reminded him of his father with his assertive behavoir when it came to his beliefs. He had always been there for George no matter what situation had been happening at the time. They had shared their individual beliefs with each other but Tom had never given up on George. Now looking back on all that happened recently he wondered if old Tom could have been right.
Snow had gently started to fall as George continued gazing through the telescope. He snapped a live shot of a snowflake and downloaded it to his computer. He had never been able to understand all the perfections in nature and the galaxy. It was a never ending battle for him even now after all these years to explain the truth in perfect things in an unperfect world. Looking at the still shot of the snowflake on his screen he could see that every angle was perfect and without a blemish of any kind. How could this be the same every time he examined one? Maybe someday he would find the answer and write a book called " The Beauty of a Snowflake".
Hearing his computer announce an in-coming e-mail, he shook himself out of his daze and walked over to check. It was from NASA. It read:
Mr Gant,
We have recieved the data on the anomoly and have examined it thoroughly. Upon further examination we have decided to reserve judgement at this time. We have sent the data to the Pentagon for further analysis. Please continue to send us updates daily on the progression of this anomoly until further notice.

The two witnesses looked out at the gathering crowd. They could hear the snide remarks and could see the contempt that appeared on several of their faces. Then there were those kneeling in prayer at the wall intent on God recieving their request. The two began to speak to the crowd:
SEE TO IT BROTHERS, THAT NONE OF YOU HAS A SINFUL, UNBELIEVING HEART THAT TURNS AWAY FROM THE LIVING GOD. BUT INCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER DAILY AS LONG AS IT IS CALLED TODAY, SO THAT NONE OF YOU MAY BE HARDENED BY SINS DECEITFULNESS. WE HAVE COME TO SHARE IN CHRIST IF WE HOLD FIRMLY TILL THE END THE CONFIDENCE THAT WE HAD FIRST. AS HAS JUST BEEN SAID:
TODAY, IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS YOU DID IN THE REBELLION.
The Rabbi had come for evening prayers and stood off to the side of them, listening and watching the crowd. The Rabbi could see the scorn on many of the faces in the crowd. The look of disgust was evident as the two witnesses spoke. "Why dont you go back where you came from and leave us alone?" one of the spectators yelled. "Yea, leave us alone. We dont need you here. We have peace and security now. Go away!" someone else screamed as they hurled bottles at the two. IN the blink of an eye both of the men who had hurled the bottles were consumed with fire. Their screams could be heard as they fell to the ground. The only thing remaining was a pile of ash. Many of the crowd screamed as they watched. They gathered their things and fled from the Wailing Wall stumbling over one another in their intent to escape.

Bridget and Jonathan tapped lightly on the door. Sarah all dressed in her scrubs opened the door for them and welcomed them. "Dr Nelson will be with you both in a minute." she smiled at both of them. " I am so excited." Bridget told her. "We will probably hear the babies heart beats today." she said. Jonathan looking like a nervous father closed the door behind them. Sarah went back into the exam room to help Richard make sure he had a working doppler and a speculum for Bridgets 1st prenatal exam. Seeing that everything was in order Sarah went back out to get Bridget. "Slip into this gown and we will back in a minute to get started." she said. Bridget looked nervously at the gown and back up at Sarah. Sarah sensing she was scared put her arm around her shoulder and led her to the changing room. "Everything is going to be fine." she assured her. As Bridget changed she could hear through the door that Jonathan and Dr Nelson had entered. Holding her hand on the back of the gown to keep it closed she re-enterd the room and with the help of Sarah climbed up onto the table. As Dr Nelson examined Bridgets growing abdomen at 4 months along Sarah turned on the ultrasound and handed Dr Nelson the Doppler. "Are you ready Bridget?" he asked her. Grinning up at all of them she said she was. Turning the monitor so all could see, he started.

Amarillo, Texas
Shade thought about the day. If not for Jose, the owner of the feedyard, they never would have gotten into town. Semi's carrying cattle and groceries were being hijacked daily. When Shade had called to tell Jose about delivering another load, Jose had warned Shade and asked for a couple of days to make arrangements. Several men had given them an armed escort to the feedyard. Once the cattle had been unloaded, Shade had gone inside to get paid for the load, and mentioned to Jose having errands to run.
"Shade, my friend" Jose has said softly. "It is dangerous. You must take my pickup. Semi's are being hijacked daily. If they see you leave here with an empty trailer they will know that you carry alot of cash." Jose looked worried.
"We need to take the trailer and wash it out, and pick up some beds, and other supplies." Shade explained.
"We will wash the trailer, and I have a trailer that you can use to pick up your supplies." Jose insisted gently.
"Thank you Jose." Shade had taken the keyes that Jose held out to him.
Shade and Matt had gone to several banks and exchanged their dollars for Argos. At every bank it was the same. With Shade's intimidating size, and impatient attitude, the tellers just exchanged the money, no questions asked. Then they went and purchased furniture, and the medical equipment Trevor had put on the list. Shade stayed in the pickup while Matt purchased the electronics that he and Tori would need to get the hideout up to date.
They finished their shopping, and headed back to the feedyard. They pulled in to find that Jose and his crew had cleaned the cattle trailer, and with their help had all their purchases loaded in short time.
'Thank you my friend." Shade said.
"You are very welcome my friend. I do not know how much longer I will stay in buisness. We both know that soon it will be very difficult for Christians, do we not." Jose said with a sad smile.
"Yeah. If you need a place to hide, just give me a call." Shade told his friend.
"No. When the time comes, I will take my family back to Mexico. There are many places to hide there." Jose smiled shyly. "Thank you for the offer, my friend."
"I'll try and get another load here sometime next week. I'll call you and make arrangements in a few days." Shade told his friend.
Jose nodded and walked back into his office. "May the Lord bless and keep you." Shade whispered as he climbed into the truck, put in in gear and drove away.
