By the riverside, Mosul, Iraq
A thin, gaunt man tossed and turned on his rough, hot cot. Images of a teenage girl kneeling by a river haunted his thoughts. Why did he keep seeing this girl? Ever since he had first seen her on the bank of the river, he had been unable to forget her. He sprang out of bed. Softly, noiselessly, he put on his sandals and slipped out of his small house.
A pale moon peaked out from behind the silvery clouds. He peered up at the pretty sight and rubbed his eyes. Strange, he thought. No, it can’t be! He stretched his muscular arms into the air and yawned noisily. He looked again. But it had to be true. The sky did indeed have a reddish tint. The sun disappeared from the sky more than three hours ago. How could such a pale moon generate a fiery light that made the sky glow? In all his years of late-night deep-sea fishing he had never seen such an awesome sight as this. It recalled to his mind the image of a girl kneeling by the river. Lines of indescribable sadness and fear filled her face.
The fishmonger bent his head in a silent prayer. “Lord be with that girl and draw her to yourself. Comfort and strengthen her….” An indescribable peace flooded his heart. He walked back into his house and flopped onto his cot. Within minutes he was sound asleep.

Stu walked back into his hotel to rest during his lunch hour. He hadnt seen Caleb since morning. He felt the jet lag as he rode the elevator up to his floor and entered his room. He closed the blinds away from the mid day sun and stretched out across his bed. Within minutes he was sound asleep. The vision came in the form of a dream.
He walked down the dock that over looked the Euphrates River and stepped into the little boat that someone had tied at the end. Taking the paddles he rowed himself out towards the middle and dropped the little anchor into the river. Taking his straw hat he placed it over his eyes and stetched out on the bottom of the boat and closed his eyes. Feeling the gentle but hot breeze blow over him and the rocking of the boat, the combination of both lulled him to sleep. He didnt know how long he had slept but by the sign in the sun it looked to be about 2:00pm. Sitting up in the boat he pulled the anchor back into the boat and picked up his paddle. The brightness of the sun made him see everything in red. The anchor at his feet looked like it was dripping blood into the boat instead of water. Sitting the paddle down he rubbed both of his eyes and again looked out onto the Euphrates River. It also appeared red. Looking back into the boat he glanced down at his feet. The anchor had dripped on him and his feet were covered in red instead of the clear water. "Stuart?" He heard a voice call out to him and he looked out again towards the shore to see who would be calling to him. A man appeared to be walking towards him on the water. "Do not be afraid. I am a servant of the most high. What you see is what will be tomorrow. You are to prepare. Fill as many large containers as you can before the morning with fresh water. For all the waters of Iraq and Isreal will be blood red by morning. Once this is done your containers will always remain full."
Feeling as though his head was pounding he awoke to someone knocking on his hotel door. "Stu? Are you in there?" Caleb called out. Stu rolled over, rubbed his eyes and planted his feet on the floor. The vision was still fresh in his mind as he opend the door and let Caleb in. He had a lot to do before morning and it was now time to find out where Caleb stood.

Jerome's eyes flashed open. He felt a tugging on his Spirit; it was telling him to go visit Lena (Mrs. Argyros) right now. Unfortunately it was late and he knew it would be an odd hour to come calling...and security was tight around her room all hours of the day and night.
Lord, please provide me with the protection of angels as I go to meet with Lena. I am not certain why you wish me to go here, but I trust You and will do Your bidding. Miraculously, Jerome encountered no guards until he arrived at Lena's room, and then he found the guards slouched against the wall, peacefully sleeping.
Jerome gently knocked on the door "Lena?" Lena are you awake?" he whispered.
The door opened quickly but quietly. "You are awake as well?" Lena whispered. "Come in quickly."
Jerome entered, his brow furrowed in confusion. "When did you wake up?"
"About 10 minutes ago. I was suddenly wide awake, and I felt something telling me to go into my sitting room and wait for a knock on the door." She smiled. "And here you are!" Her face then slowly became confused as well. "Why did I wake up?"
Jerome led her to a chair and sat across from her; in fact they were in the exact spot where Lena had become a follower of Jesus Christ. "I think it is the Lord. He wants to tell us something...I think He wants....hm...." Jerome's eyes glazed over, and they suddenly flashed towards the big window across the room. He slowly stood up and walked towards the window. Despite it being a very warm evening in New Babylon, it was covered in frost. He turned toward Lena with eyes wide.
"Jerome!" His eyes focused on the window again. "There are words on the window...God is writing them!"
Sure enough, a message was being written as they stood there. "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying;"....and then the next words were underlined..."and they have the power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want."
They both turned to each other quickly and said at the exact same moment: "Revelation 11:3-6". Then it dawned on them. "Lena, God is going to turn the water into blood! But when?" He looked toward Lena, wondering why she wasn't responding, and saw that she was again staring at the window, where the verse had been wiped clean, and new words were appearing. "Fill up your containers with water tonight, for by morning the water will be blood. They will forever be full." It wasn't a verse, but the message was clear.
"Lena, we have work to do." He helped her fill up every waterbottle and some covered containers she owned with water, and stashed them in a hidden cupboard behind a closet. "We don't have to fill up everything you have, for the Lord said He will keep refilling them." He looked around unconsciously. "And besides, you don't want anyone to get suspicious and start asking questions." He stopped himself from saying "Teodor" because he knew Lena did not yet suspect her son to be the antichrist.
Lena began to shoo him out. "Jerome, you need to get home and fill up your containers with water as well; morning is only hours away." He quickly made his way to the door, opened it, and quietly left. Lena leaned against the door, her mind racing and her heart pounding...not out of fear, but out of amazement of what she had experienced. "Lord, who knew You were so glorious?"

The fishmonger woke up in the middle of the night, startled out of a sound sleep. Someone was knocking on his door. He crept out of bed and crossed to the door. He slipped the heavy iron hook out of its socket and swung the door open just a crack. The brilliant light that flooded through the now open door almost blinded him!
Suddenly a voice thundered out of the curtain of light. "Abdul Azeem, servant of the Mighty, I will turn all the water into blood tomorrow morning. Fill your containers with water now, for they will never be empty of fresh water." As quickly as the visitor came, he vanished leaving a stunned, awestruck man standing in the open doorway. Finally, he turned, collected his wits and ran to the river lugging a giant wooden bathing tub.

On the Ranch the Little House
Kristen went down under the weight of the assault.
“GET AWAY FROM ME!! YOU’RE NOT REAL!!!” Leon shouted as he wrapped his hands around Kristen’s throat.
“GO BACK TO HELL WHERE YOU BELONG!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!” Leon continued to shout as his hands tightened.
Kristen struggled, her nails leaving deep gouges in the back of Leon’s hands as she tried desperately to pull his hands away from her throat.
Nathan jumped to pull Leon off of Kristen, but the emaciated man had more strength than Nathan though possible.
Rage, Hate, Anger, and Murder all danced around the room in a frenzy, flipping and spinning egging Leon on. “Kill her!!!” They all shouted with glee. Murder hopped up and down on Leon’s back, his clawed feet raking and burning Leon, causing Leon to squeeze Kristen’s throat even tighter.
Belle grabbed Leon’s hair and began to tug as hard as she could. She pulled so hard a great hunk of hair came loose sending her stumbling backward and falling to the floor. She stared dumbly as the hair in her hand as her heart began to pound too hard.
Mo came rushing out of the bedroom, having been awakened by the ruckus. He couldn’t see Kristen under Leon and Nathan as the two struggled. He saw Belle lying on the floor, her hand at her chest as her face became ashen. He rushed to her side. “Belle? Are you alright?”
Belle pointed, “Help her!” She gasped.
Mo turned his head to see Kristen lying under Leon, his hands choking her and Nathan struggling to pull Leon’s hands from her throat. He started to move when Shade, followed by Trevor, Matt and Zoe burst through the front door.
Kristen vision began to blur around the edges as Leon began to pound her head against the floor. Her hands fell from Leon’s the fight gone out of her as her body began to shut down from lack of oxygen.
“DIE!!! JUST DIE!!!” Leon shouted.
Suddenly more hands were there and Leon’s grip was broken. Kristen struggled to breath, her throat burning with the effort, as she instinctively, from past experience, rolled to her side and curled up, making herself as small a target as possible.
Shade caught Leon by the arm and one of his legs and threw him across the room into the wall. Leon hit the wall with such force that he broke through the sheet rock, striking his head on one of the wall studs. He fell to the floor limp as a rag doll unconscious.
“Breathe Kristen!” Trevor shouted, trying to pull Kristen from the fetal position she had curled into. “Help me!” He shouted at Matt.
Matt caught Kristen’s legs and tried to pull her out of her curled up position, but Kristen wouldn’t move. He could hear the choked sounds coming from Kristen as she struggled to take a breath, but she was curled so tightly into herself, that she couldn’t take the deep pull of air she so desperately needed. Nathan dropped to the floor and grabbed one of Kristen’s legs with Matt grabbing the other and they both began to pull with all their strength. Shade caught Kristen’s head and pulled her head up so that her chin was no longer tucked to her chest as Trevor turned her and pressed her shoulders flat to the floor. With a deep shudder Kristen finally took a choppy breath, her whole body shaking with the effort.
“Go get some oxygen, now!!!!” Trevor shouted, sending Zoe sprinting to the kitchen to grab the portable oxygen tank Trevor had left for Belle.
Zoe returned with the tank and in her rush, tripped over Matt who was lying across Kristen’s thighs to keep her from curling up again, and went sprawling. She had enough presence of mind to toss the tank to Shade before it hit the floor and he caught it one handed and quickly handed it to Trevor.
Trevor placed the mask over Kristen’s nose and mouth and turned the oxygen on. Finally after what seemed like minutes, but was in reality only seconds Kristen took a deep breath and began to cough.
“Belle.” Zoe heard Mo shout. She pulled herself to her hands and knees to see Belle lying still in Mo’s arms.
Zoe crawled around to Mo and felt for Belle’s pulse. The elderly woman’s eyes opened and she gave a small smile. “I’m alright child, just a little too much excitement for my heart. Just let me be for a bit.”
Zoe nodded and sat back on her heals. Her eyes filled with tears as she looked around the room. Kristen lay on the floor finally breathing on her own and caught Trevor’s eye. He silently mouthed, ‘You ok?’ and she nodded, her heart giving a little jump at his look.

As the last container of fresh water was placed down in the security shelter the Rabbi turned to speak to the group. " In a few days we all may find ourselves sleeping down here." "Why would we do that Rabbi?" Connor asked. " Well son, this is going to cause a civil unrest, not only here but all across the globe. People will be searching homes for fresh water and they may become desperate enough to hurt or kill any one they come in contact with. We must take this opportunity to share the gospel with all we come in contact with when we are not sleeping down here. We have much to do during this plague but we must be careful who we come in contact with and seek the Lord for guidance and protection." he answered Connor. Bill glanced at Connor to see if he was understanding all that was told him. It appeared he was taking the Rabbi serious and seemed to understand. Bill put his arm around his son to reasure him. "Stick with me son. We will get through this together. The Lord will give us the words we need. I think we should stay in pairs in the coming days. No one should venture out alone." Bill said. "Thats good advice Bill. The Lord has always told us that where two or more are gathered, He is there in the midst." The Rabbi said.
As everyone headed back upstairs to rest in their rooms Andrew pulled the Rabbi aside. " I'm going to head over to Steves apartment now. I need to find out were he stands." he said. " I think thats a good idea Andrew, but why dont we go to my room and pray about this before you leave and ask the Lord to go with you to give you wisdom and protection." the Rabbi stated.

Maude sat in the front with Sam as Steven sat forward in the back seat with his hand resting on Maude's shoulder. She had tears in her eyes as she began to speak, "Sam, your Mother came to my house many times over the years to talk to me about what Jesus did for me. When I had my first stroke, she sat with me until the ambulance took me to the hospital then she visited every day until I was sent home. I would awaken from a deep sleep and see her on her knees by my bedside praying. You were off at college and she spent most of her time taking care of me and others that were in need. She brought that preacher with her several times and they both talked and prayed with me. I was just too mean and bitter to hear the words. My beloved Albert and my son, Clyde, were taken from me in an automobile accident and I guess I always blamed God for taking them away. We always attended church together, but after they were killed, I just couldn't venture out of the house unless it was to go to the store or the doctor. Your Mother took care of me even when I was mean and hateful to her. I hope Jesus can forgive me for all the cruel things I said to people over the years." Maude wept as Steven tried to give her comfort.
Sam gave her a sympathetic smile, "Maude, my Mother had the spirit of the Lord with her and she never took anything you said or did personally. She understood your pain and felt it was her calling from God to take care of everyone in need. I didn't always understand her need to nurture the whole community and sometimes I was angry that she was off taking care of someone else instead of being at home tending to us. I was a bit selfish in those days. Yes, you can be forgiven of all your sins, you only have to ask in Jesus' name. Pray for fogiveness and ask Jesus into your heart. Mother will be singing praises knowing you have changed your heart."
Sam pulled the car over to the side of the road and they all held hands as Maude asked to receive Jesus as her savior.

The message was going out to all believers. Sam, Steven, and Maude saw the writing on the windshield of the van.
MD and Amy saw the message on the wall of the shop.
Sam rushed to the cave knowing what would be coming.......and soon. He told everyone in the cave to start filling as many containers with water that they could find. The witnesses were going to call for the water to turn red with blood, but those that believe and fill containers with water shall always have water.
MD and Amy ran to find Doug asking him to get everyone together. They needed to find all empty containers and start filling them with water. Amy told them of the writing on the wall, the warning from God what was to come from the two witnesses.
All those at the shop, the cave, and believers everywhere that had received the message would work throughout the night preparing for what was to come by morning.

Emily sat on the bench at the top of the little hill overlooking the garden. It was a beautiful day, a warm breeze blowing leaves across the grass while starlings chattered in the little stand of birch trees behind her. It was the kind of day you would catch yourself smiling for no reason but Emily wasnt smiling today. She was waiting on Kevin to finish his meeting with Brother Aaron. He had said he would meet her in the garden before lunch. No one had seen Brother Aaron for 3 days now. He had gone on retreat in his chambers leaving Kevin in charge for the 72 hours while Brother Aaron had been fasting and praying as the Lord had asked him to.
She could feel butterflies in her stomach. She placed her hand on the tiny swelling she could feel. Was that the baby she felt as the butterflies continued? She stretched out across the bench and listened to the sounds of all the birds nearby. She could feel the wind and hear it also as it rustled through her hair. She opened her eyes to see that a beautiful white dove had landed on the back of the bench. She dared not move. She didnt want it to fly off. As she watched, she felt as though the dove seemed to study her. It brought her comfort as she slowly drifted off. She hadnt been sleeping well the last couple of nights because she missed Julie so much.
Kevin was the second to find out about Brother Aaron. He had locked himself away from the compound for the last three days and had called Kevin this morning to meet with him. Aaron had already e-mailed the Rabbi earlier and informed him of his meeting with the Lord. As soon as Kevin had entered Aarons chamber he had seen the cross on his forehead and knew that Brother Aaron was now chosen as one of the 144,000. But that wasnt all Aaron wanted to speak to him about. The Lord had revealed to him what was about to transpire across the globe. He learned that the compound was considered holy ground and their water supplied by the Lord would not be affected. No one on earth, but a few even knew they were there.
As he heard the bell ring for lunch he left Brother Aarons chamber promising to meet him back at the main table as soon as he picked up Emily. He jumped in his jeep and headed for the garden.

The Rabbi and Andrew knelt in prayer asking for wisdom and guidance for Andrew's meeting with Steve. They finished and rising to their feet the Rabbi put his hand on Andrew's shoulder, "Your words will come and you will know what you need to say to Steve. The Lord will be with you, rely on Him, and allow His will to be done. I shall pray for you."
Andrew gave him a hug, "Thank you, Rabbi. I have a feeling Steve knows the truth, but what I don't know is has he accepted the truth. Would he be welcome here, should he need to leave his apartment?"
"Of course, all God's children have refuge with us. Now go and talk with your friend," the Rabbi told him.
Yoshi drove him to the little apartment and dropped him off. Andrew knocked lightly on Steve's door and as the door flung open Andrew could see Steve had been in anguish. His hair was disheveled, he appeared to have been in some kind of altercation, but what had taken place since they had last talked?
"Drew, you made it," Steve greeted him.
"I told you I would be here. Are you alright? You look a little distracted," Andrew inquired.
Steve began pacing about the room and throwing his hand out as if were trying to swat a fly, but there was nothing there. He rubbed his head until Andrew thought he was going to rub all the skin from his face. What on earth was happening to him? Hate, Anger, Jealousy and Fear were circling Steve taunting him.
Hate began talking, "You can't trust this man, he doesn't understand you. He thought you were trying to take Claire away." Anger spoke, "You could have had her and taken better care of her." Jealousy spat, "He wasn't good enough for her." Fear was hissing, "He can destroy you if you don't take care of him now."
Steve drew back further from Andrew and his eyes were almost bulging out of the socket. Andrew spoke up, "Steve, what is going on with you? Do you need my help"
All of a sudden Steve rushed Andrew and began to hit him saying things that were incoherent. "You killed Claire and I'm going to kill you."
