Are They Ready For This?

Bob took a sip of his nice, warm coffee from Starbucks. They had barely started driving, and already they had gone for a break. Leon hadn’t gotten anything, of course.

Bob and Leon were the perfect example of normal guys. Bob was young and 23 years old, as was Leon. They were best friends, and had gone to school together most of their lives. Bob had short, blond hair while Leon had long brown hair.

They were quite the same, but they were really different.

Bob was raised in a Christian family, but he never believed that religious junk. Leon was raised in a strictly atheist house. Bob had lost his whole family in the disappearances, while Leon had only lost his brother.

“Ok,” said Bob, “We have a long time left until we get to New York."

Bob noticed that Leon wasn't listening to him.

"Leon...uh, Leon?"

He looked in the direction Leon's eyes were looking an he was amazed.

"The Wyoming State Capitol...."

Bob quickly pulled out his camera, "Take a picture, Leon!"

"This must mean we are in Cheyenne, I guess?"

"Take the picture!"

Andrew quickly locked his desk drawer, left a message for his assistant that he would be going to the Armory for paperwork and would be back shortly. His mind was racing as he thought how God had placed Sam Watson directly in his path. Amy had told him about Sam volunteering to help them with deliveries and low and behold, God sends him to Andrew. He thought, "I am constantly amazed by the wonders God performs. Claire, so sorry I didn't listen to you and put off being a follower of Jesus." He weaved through traffic and soon was pulling into the parking space provided for high ranking officers. He saluted the corporal on guard and quickly made his way to the director's office. He saw a young soldier standing beside a man he assumed was Sam and said, "At ease soldier. Is this Sam Watson?"
"Yes, sir."
Andrew dismissed the attending soldier and turned his attention to Sam. "My name is Andrew Carter, the General Commander of the Midwest GFM and a believer. I am in a position to aide you and Bill when you are flying your missions. I am giving you two receivers that are secure and how I will send messages when you are to avoid certain areas or use your radar deflector device. Please give Bill the second receiver and I will let MD know that we have been in contact. I also wanted to let you know that if Jason is a believer also, I am going to bring him with me to my new office and use him as my personal assistant."
Sam looked at him in amazement and said, "Thank God, we need all the assistance we can get. I will make sure the second receiver is given to Bill. Thank you so much. Yes, Jason is a believer. He had problems coming to belief in Jesus, but he is there now. Maybe you should keep an eye on him, just in case we have been fooled again. I wouldn't give him full trust until you are absolutely sure of him. He went through a time where he was being accosted by demons and listened to them, but he says they have left, but in this time of evil controlling this world, it never hurts to be watchful for our enemies."
Andrew answered, "It is duly noted and I will watch him. I have given you my secure email and ways to contact me, should you need my assistance. It is my honor to know you and give you whatever I can to assure your continued safety. Now, you must get on your way to MD. Remember, we have God on our side and may His guidance always be with you."
Sam shook Andrew's hand and they said good-bye. Andrew made his way to where the newest recruits were being assembled and asked the officer in charge to have Jason sent to his office. He saluted and returned to his car to head back to his office.
Sam was praying as he drove back to the airstrip, "Lord, thank you for sending Andrew and for Your love and continued guidance. We praise Your Holy name. Give me traveling grace and keep Jason strong in his faith. Amen."

As Amy was listenting to the radio, she heard that there was a plane that went down in the carribian, It was struck by lightning the news report came across. As of now, there is no signs of survivors and there are no signs of the plane.

Jerome was standing around with his co-workers, looking at the GFN Report on the plane crash.

"Breaking right now, we have a small plane that has crashed into the ocean in the Caribbean area. Experts believe it was struck by lightning, which caused a mechanical failure, but it is not yet clear was caused the accident. The crash is reportedly in a remote area, and it will take a few days to get crews out to the expected crash site to look for the wreckage. At this time, officials do not believe there were any survivors. The plane was reportedly unmarked and does not belong to any known airline, and no airlines have spoken out to claim the plane at this time."

Something about this doesn't feel right... Jerome thought. He had an uneasy knot in the pit of his stomach, and his eyes unconsciously landed on Teodor, who was near the back of the gathering. The Potentate almost looked...pleased, but Jerome couldn't be sure. Teodor's face made the "concerned" expression, but Jerome, who had been around the Potentate during other grief-stricken moments (such as the death of his cousin and friend Kostos) and had seen no signs of sadness. Jerome could almost detect a corner of Teodor's mouth twitching up into a smile, but no one would notice such a small thing except for someone (like Jerome) who had been around the Potentate so often.

It made Jerome feel sick. He wanted to rush out of the room and get some fresh air but knew the Potentate would notice instantly if Jerome acted out of character. So, he plastered on a "concerned-but-bored" expression, just like the rest of the people in the room.

Jerome suspected the plane had contained one or more Christian believers who were either transporting supplies or trying to get to a particular destination, and the GF Airforce most likely took them out while Teodor made sure the media reported this story about a "lightning strike"...Jerome knew these kinds of acts would only become more and more common as Christian persecution worsened in the coming months and years.

Sam landed his plane and looked around for anyone from the shop. He didn't spot anyone and began to worry something was wrong or they hadn't gotten his message. He had gotten a report from Andrew that an unknown plane had apparently gone down in the Caribbean. He dialed Amy and she finally answered, "Sorry, Sam, MD is on his way to get you. No, we don't have anything confirmed about the plane. We will see you shortly."
He put the phone in its holster and began his checks on his plane. His mind was racing, "Could it be Bill and what was he doing that far south? Are they no longer safe in the air? Amy appeared shaken and didn't want to say anything on the phone. Too many questions and no answers."

He had tried many times to kill Him. He had tried to keep Him from being born. He had put it in Pharos mind to kill the Messiah and many babies had gone to their death in the Nile to prevent His coming. That plan had failed.
He had put it in Herod’s mind that the long awaited Messiah would take his throne, and Herod in his greed for power, had searched for the King with the intent to kill Him. His shock had been as great as Lucifer’s when the Magi had come to Jerusalem telling their tale of following the Star that indicated that the Messiah had been born.
Finally. The Messiah had left His throne and come to earth, not as a great king, but born of a virgin, an infant. A helpless, defenseless infant. Lucifer smiled. After all this time Jehovah had finally made a mistake. The Magi would lead him to the child and Herod would kill him. Lucifer called his fellow fallen angels and instructed them to keep whispering to Herod.
“Greed, you must let him know that the Messiah will take his kingdom from him. Build his greed, put fear of becoming a servant in his mind.”
Greed began to whisper and it wasn’t long before Herod ordered all babies in Bethlehem under the age of two to be killed. That plan had also failed.
But now, now finally the Messiah was dying. Lucifer laughed and whispered to Jesus as He was beaten. “So you are a great King. They have rejected you, they do not see you as a king, they see you as someone to be hated and reviled.”
Jesus never once acknowledged him, and Lucifer began to feel something was wrong. He had begun to demand Jesus tell him what was going on.
Jesus had been steadfast as He dragged the cross through the gates of Jerusalem and towards Calvary. Falling once more the guards began whipping his back furiously and Lucifer’s fellow fallen angels urged them into a frenzy. A guard had come along and stopped the beating, and a man was chosen out of the crowd to help Jesus carry the weight of the cross. Lucifer paid him no mind as he was trying to pinpoint what was going on.
By the time Jesus made it to the top of the hill Lucifer was beginning to panic, and he had no idea why. His thoughts raced as he watched the nails being driven into Jesus hands and feet. Sin, Hell, and Death danced around in a frenzy, Lucifer’s unease transmitting itself to them. They hissed and spit in rage as Lucifer demanded Jesus answer him. But through it all Jesus never once looked his way, or indicated that he was even there.
As Jesus hung on the cross, Lucifer’s unease built. Jesus spoke to one of the men on the cross next to Him, promising him he would be in Paradise with Him that day.
The day dragged on as the fallen angels screamed and whirled at the foot of the cross in a rage.
“It is finished.” Jesus said, sending fear pounding thorough Lucifer. As Jesus breathed His last Lucifer finally understood what he had missed.

Mat 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we want to see a sign from you.
Mat 12:39 But He answered and said to them, An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign. And there shall be no sign given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Mat 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so the Son of Man shall be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Mar 14:58 We heard Him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

Joh 2:18 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, What sign do you show us, since you do these things?
Joh 2:19 Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.
Joh 2:20 Then the Jews said, This temple was forty-six years building, and will you rear it up in three days?
Joh 2:21 But He spoke of the temple of His body.

Luk 20:17 And He looked at them and said, What then is this which is written, "The Stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the Head of the corner?
Luk 20:18 Whoever shall fall on that Stone shall be broken, but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."

Lucifer finally understood. He had been defeated.

“Devon!!”
She shook her head. “What?!!?”
“What have you done?” Mo shouted.
Devon looked down at her hands. They were covered in blood. She looked at Mo. “I love you. I just wanted you back. He told me to kill her....that with her gone I could get you back...but....” Devon lifted her hands toward Mo.
He stepped back. “Who were you supposed to kill?”
“Belle.”
Skunk raced from the room to check on Belle as Mo grabbed Devon by the arm.
“Who told you to kill her?”
“Stephen. He said you were weak and he should have been the leader of the gang. He always wanted to be the leader. He said if I got rid of Belle I could get you back.”
Mo blinked his eyes hard. “You never accepted Christ did you? You were faking it the whole time.”
“I knew it was the only way I could stay with you.“ Then Devon turned and ran out of the house into the night.

So much had happened in the past weeks Rabbi Abraham sat at his desk trying to type it all in so the 144,000 would learn as they began their journeys to their final destination. Lisa had been the greatest gift to him. She had prioritized him, organized him and made sure he stayed well. She was accomplished now in reading his hand writing so his messages to Gods children always arrived on time. She printed all his e-mails so he could answer each one. She had finally convinced him that a tape recorder would be faster for her and him if he would just try one out. He chuckled remembering the day that she had bought it for him and then wrapped it in birthday paper. She had no idea when his birthday was, but he took it as a gift from God because his birthday had only been a few days away.
Since that day at the Wailing Wall many of the jewish people had sought him out. Either through his e-mail or by following him home from his morning prayers. Many wanted an explanation as to what the 2 witnesses meant in their words to the people. He had explaned to all who asked him and some days later he started leading many of them to the Lord Jesus. His heart rejoiced with each one knowing that many would be calling on Jesus to save them. Getting up from his desk he wondered outside to the garden in Yoshis backyard. He sat on the bench that looked out over the valley thinking back to that day at the wall when so much shock and awe from the witnesses had started the people thinking.

Renee wrote:
Lightning flashed across the noon day sky as peels of thunder roared across the land. The day was grey and dismal as those faithful to the Torah made their way to the wailing wall regardless of the weather. Tops of umbrellas covered the area as the crowd rocked back and forth chanting their prayers. Another day had arrived for the witnesses as they stood in their sackcloth without cover preaching to the people.

"'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.'
17 " This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.'

18 "They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. 19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD."

The witnesses looked out into the crowd scanning each face in attendance. Two brothers on their way to the Dome of the Rock had stopped briefly to listen as they passed by. They had found it amusing and began to taunt the people in front of them. "Your God cant help you now! Look at the two old men He sent to speak for Him! He cant even afford to put decent clothes on them! The reason you cant get any closer is because they smell so bad." one of them laughed. As the sky grew darker the other one wasnt so sure this was amusing anymore and tried to get his brother to give it up and leave with him. The witnesses could be heard speaking hebrew as they lifted their voices high above the crowd. Lightning flashes could be seen shooting across the sky as the crowd looked up. Just as suddenly as the sky had darkened, the grey returned and the rain slowed down. There were gasps in the crowd as the people who had been taunted by the two brothers, now saw only two piles of ashes were the men had stood previously. The Witnesses waited for the crowd to turn their attention back to them before speaking again. As the shock and awe began to sink in the people again turned to the witnesses. One stepped forward and spoke.
"God will not be mocked."

The Rabbi sat silent and thoughtful remembering that day. So much horror yet to come to mankind. Kneeling in the garden he bowed his head and opened his heart with longing and love for his blessed savoir.

After hours of reviewing all her emails, Amy came across one that caught her attention. It reads....

The Father who is in Heaven, Holy is your name, your will, will happen on this earth as it happens in Heaven. Send us what we need and forget our sins. Amen”

Edwards
Bright Star tacticle force

Paging MD to the front office, he soon arived with Sam beside him. "Oh its so good to see you Sam, Im glad you made it here safe."
"Thank you Amy, have you heard anything from Bill yet?"
Shaking her head in a slow deliberate manner, Sam and MD both felt the grief radiating from Amy.

"I'm sorry sweetheart, I know down deep in my heart that Bill and Connor are ok. I believe that God has his hand upon that plane. We just have to believe." said MD as sympathetically as he could.

I recieved an email from that rogue navy group you were talking about the other day. It looks like they sent a reponse just to ensure that we would get it uniterupted and secure. MD glancing over the shoulder of his wife read the message. "Ok, tell them that you have confirmed that you are on a safe connection and that we are in a postition to offer our services to them. Ask them what kind of supplies they would need to ensure there safety and survival. Tell them that they will be on elevated priority status due to their situation. And tell them, that was the best version of the Lord's prayer that I have ever heard. God bless them."

Amy who can type 70 words a minute was finished with the email before MD finished his last sentance. Smiling, she started to stroke the send key when MD said, "STOP dont send it just yet. I think we better wait until we hear from them again. I have a feeling that this might be a trap and could be coming from GF. Save the email and if we hear from them again, then we will reply. I just have this strange sence that we must wait with our reply for now.
"Ok, I trust your instincts MD... I just saved it in a new file named.. Answer with caution.

Now turning her attention to Sam, Amy got up and gave Sam a huge hug, congradulating him on his up and coming marriage. "Oh I feel so bad that you are out here flying missions when you should be home getting ready for your new bride."
Thanking Amy, Sam replied," I appriciate your kind words, but I will be home to her soon and then we will be as happy as we can be while the Lord carries us through these coming dark days. She understands, just like all of us do, time is short and we have to be about our Fathers buisness with great urgency. There are no other priorities higher then serving Him. And through his mercy he is providing me with a lovely bride and a wonderful group of friends to spend our last months and years together with. And by the way, before I get too carried away here, I almost forgot to give this to you. When you see Bill, and that's WHEN he comes home, not if. This is a radio reciever that can be used in his plane to help track the GF Airforce activies while he is in flight."
"Thank you so much Sam, we love you and will be praying for you and please give our best to you new bride to be and your loved ones at home."

Sam and Amy gave each other one more big hug as Amy told Sam the delivery schedule and recieved confirmation from Doug that Sam's plane was loaded, fueled and ready for take off.

MD took Sam back the plane, while Amy started to go about her normal buisness when a weak radio signal came across her mic. am. .K p....ne do..n in water. near deser..ed is..nd sen. resc.. AS.P
Switfly grabing the mic, Amy starts screaming... Repeat, repeat... Your breaking up,, Repeat,,repeat.... then the radio went silent.

Amy immediatly called Austin to come to the office. When Austin entered, she told him of the broken radio signal and she believes that it was Bill... She needs to try and contact him again. But the short wave radio that Austin had set up for her just wasnt strong enough. "I have already added all of the boosters, and antenna that I can put up without creating suspision from the GF." replied Austin.
"We need more power," commanded Amy.
" I understand, but its at high risk to everyone that you monitor though this radio. The different delivery pilots that you stay in touch with, and the different groups of trib warriors that you stay in contact with by way of short wave could be compromised if we draw attention to ourselves by boosting the signal anymore then we already have." retorted Austin.
"I understand, but we have got to find out if that was Bill and if he's ok"
pleaded Amy
"I'll see what I can do" as Austin headed to the e-lab.

Sam was taxing down the runway when he got the message from Amy that she thought she had heard from Bill. Sam quickly put the bird in the air and radioed Amy, "I am in flight, but will get in touch with Andrew and see what he can find out. I can head that way if Austin can pinpoint where the signal was coming from. Keep me posted. I should be able to drop my cargo in four hours, refuel, and be ready to head south."
Amy breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you, Sam. I will radio when I know something and you do the same when you hear from Andrew."
"Amy, pray. I just know the Lord has his hand on Bill and Connor and they will be home soon."
"Bye, Sam and be careful."
"Talk to you soon," and Sam broke off communication.

He picked up the receiver Andrew had given him and put in the distress call. Andrew was quick to answer and Sam explained what they thought had happened to Bill. "Andrew, if you can find anything out, please let us know."
"Sam, I will do all I can to help. You said, Austin was working on it, too so between all of us we can find Bill and bring him home," Andrew replied.
"I will have my cargo delivered in less than four hours and be on my way south should you or Amy find out anything. Keep me informed."
"Will do, Sam and God bless your flight. His power is great and we must have faith God is in control of this situation. Will let you know as soon as I find out anything. Bye."
Sam banked the plane and began praying for Bill and Connor. Lucifer had his hand in this through his puppet, Argyos. His goal is to destroy anyone who believes in Jesus Christ. He has been trying to control man since the beginning and with time growing short, Lucifer will intensify his focus on destroying all who oppose his goal. Sam said quietly, "You won't win because our God is superior to all. You won't have our souls either. We defy you Lucifer and send you on your way."

Andrew sent Jerome an email as soon as he got Sam's message that the plane that went down might have been Bill's. He asked for any information Jerome might have on his end. Amy had gotten a distress message so if they had survived the crash, he would need to provide safe passage for Sam to fly undetected into that area. He picked up the latest reports and it only had slight mention of the plane going down, but nothing saying it was high priority. A knock on his door caused him to quickly lock his desk drawer and push the report to the side. He answered the knock with, "Enter."
He looked up to see the young man standing before him with papers in hand and waiting for acknowledgment. "Come in and take a seat, I will be with you shortly." He was watching the young man trying to decide whether he would tell him he was also a believer. Maybe I will wait for a while to tell him. Sam seemed to think I should watch and wait to see what side he would take when the going got rougher.
He took the papers from Jason and said, "I am Commander Andrew Carter and you will be under my command as my personal assistant. I see that you have considerable computer knowledge and you are interested in engineering. I don't know that I will need an engineer, but the computer skills will definitely come in handy."
Jason shook his hand, "My name is Jason. It will be a pleasure to be your assistant." Jason seemed to be trying to decide just how much he should tell Andrew then decided to only answer questions and not offer any personal information. He had to be very careful telling anything personal about himself to anyone and that included his superior officer. Sam and the others were counting on him keeping strong in his faith in Jesus and he didn't want to disappoint anyone. Jesus knew his heart and that was all that counts.
"We will be transferring to Whiteman AFB in a few days, but in the mean time you will stay in the barracks until we are moved. I will need you to report 0800 hours tomorrow and we will get started on your duties. Officer Benton will take you to your quarters and show you the mess hall. Get a good night's rest and I will see you in the morning," Andrew told him.
"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. I will be here first thing in the morning. Good evening, sir," Jason replied.
Andrew once again alone in his office began studying the latest reports then he pushed the receiver, "Sam, I have sent a couple of inquiries into the plane crash and will get back to you as soon as I have received a reply."
"Read you, Andrew. Closing in on my drop in less than an hour. Will be ready for further instructions," Sam said.
"Be safe, Sam." Andrew laid the report on his desk, leaned back in his chair, and began a prayer. "Lord, keep Sam safe and please let it be Bill that called Amy. We pray for your protection. Thank you Lord for our daily blessings. Amen." Andrew still wasn't quite sure how to pray, but he knew Jesus understood. It was going to be a long night.
